Red onions also have the most flavor imo. They are my favorites to use along with garlic. I only bother with the other onions when I can't find red onions.
Now I finally found the onion comparison that cannot be found by searches. The end of this video "leaks" over into the beginning of another video, and i was nearly mad trying to find it. What I take away is that red/purple versions of most every veggie are best. Going to plant purple potatoes and carrots this year, maybe onions.
I use red as often as I can but the flavor is to strong to be used with all onion dishes.
