  38. Dr. Greger this is now your second video I have watched about Toxoplasma but in both videos you failed to mention that the parasite can also be transferred through blood transfusion as well as working with raw meat, or touching it and/or eating it.
    Its not just cat pee thats the culprit……..would you mind correcting this.

    People are dying of lung cancer.
    Are most of them smokers? Yes.
    A study was done testing smokers who quit smoking vs smokers who don’t quit. Finding: smokers who quit are much less likely to get lung Cancer.

  71. This is significantly disturbing after watching and relying on your efforts to encourage and reinforce healthy eating habits. The 1 in 4 chance of already being "brain inhabited" by schizophrenic inducing parasites is terrifying!   73. I spend a ton of time outside and I still can't get near a cat. Its the only thing I am allergic to. Big Cats are another matter. I have had a few try to sneak up on me but they don't stand a chance. Saw a huge feral one yesterday. It was about 40 lbs. Scared thing but probably lethal. As soon as I saw it panicked.   84. A lot of cat comments, I really hope most are jokes. Just need to clarify, one, a cat doesn't necessarily have toxoplasmosis. Especially if they're indoor only. Two, even if your cat does have toxoplasmosis, you won't necessarily get infected unless you don't clean after handling the litter. Three, even if you have toxoplasmosis, these symptoms are tendencies and averages. They are correlations and not direct consequences of infection. There are many, many more factors in the conditions mentioned here (a lot of which are much more significant factors. Example with schizophrenia genetic predisposition is a vastly more important factor).There is a vast misunderstanding of this video in the comments below.

  88. The most common way to get infected with this virus is by eating not fully cooked meat. Bear that in mind. If your cat is infected, you can have a vet treat it with the right antibiotics… Only about 30% of pets are infected. One way to keep your cat from being infected is to fully cook the meat it eats, and to keep it from hunting outdoors. Also, keep it indoors. Curious why this was not mentioned.
