Dean Ornish and his colleagues got amazing results, apparently reversing the progression of prostate cancer with a plant-based diet and lifestyle program. Do you think it could be because of the soy? It wasn’t just a vegan diet, but a vegan diet supplemented with a daily serving of tofu and a soy protein isolate powder. 25 Risposte a “Flashback Friday: Fermented or Unfermented Soy Foods for Prostate Cancer Prevention”

  1. Intuition, intuition, intuition. I could not bring myself naturally to like Tempeh or any of the fermented soy products, and I only eat big amounts of tofu, which I like very much! And there you go, my intuition (my taste buds) chose the better option for my prostate! Listen to your body, what it tells you even in the form of what tastes good on our palate and what doesn't quite go down well, and certainly what foods you crave.
You don't need to force yourself to eat a certain vegan foods just because they are known super foods and extremely healthy and good for you if you just don't enjoy them in your mouth! PERIOD. I know I used to do that in my vegan beginnings. So, this Tempeh, it's supposed to be good for ya, huh? So I started preparing all kinds of dishes with it, and never really liked them. :))) So I naturally stopped after a while and stuck to the Tofu. We are all different, and our bodies will tell us eventually what they want in order to function well. Especially if you don't thwart this ability with high fructose corn syrups, trans fats, cigarettes and alcohol. Peace, y'all! 🙂

  2. I am in my 60s and have been a vegan for 7 years. For the last 2 years I have been eating 1 to 2 cups dried unsalted edamame soy nuts each day. My blood sugar and lipid profile have improved considerably. I feel better.

  3. I'm Japanese from Okinawa, the Blue Zone. My grandparents are centenarians. I have been eating many soy foods, tofu, natto, okara, kinako, tonyu, miso, edamame, etc, all my life, and will keep eating them until I can become a centenarian too in future.

  4. Interesting. Have been eating fermented soy for years as in UK, available tofu seems full of 'firming agent' and little soy. Also, thank you for slower diction. Please revisit this subject.

  5. Great info. I ferment organic soymilk with kefir grains, to use in smoothies. And use plain organic soyamilk and tofu for everything else. I feel it's a good ballance. Love from Ireland…

  6. I live in south Asia and honestly nobody cares how someone died. They just write whatever sounds plausable. I would disregard all medical data, especially anything related to complex conditions like cancer, from these countries.

  7. But I heard you say in a recent interview that tempeh is better than tofu. If tofu reduces cancer, while tempeh has no effect, it seems to me tofu is better. What greater benefit does tempeh have to offer?

  8. Honestly, this drives me crazy. Here it states that soy os protective, but fermented is worse than non fermented. Another article suggests fermented is more protective. Another article suggest that soy is not be consumed because it blocks the effects of pancreatic enzymes. I mean, you literally just go around in circles.

I commenti sono chiusi.
