Friday Favorites: Fasting for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Autoimmune Diseases

Fasting, followed by a plant-based diet, is put to the test for autoimmune inflammatory joint disease and autoimmune diseases such as lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, chronic urticaria, mixed connective-tissue disease, glomerulonephritis, and multiple sclerosis, as well as osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.

  1. Loved the video. Please turn on the auto-translate caption for all languages feature please. There are many billions of people who cannot read or understand English. Thank you. PS: If you do not know how, leave a message and I will show you a video that explains the very simple process. It is a 3 minor steps process that takes maybe at a maximum 1 minute. My wife has lupus, but does not english well enough to get this.

  2. Totally possible to heal with diet based on the principle of healing the gut. I followed a coaching program with a 12 week plan of food and exercise which was all vegan, I was already vegan so it was perfect. I felt a difference in a matter of days and by the end I was 95% better and symptoms only flared up if my diet got bad (junk food, alcohol). Finally I kept working on stress levels and took proteolytic enzymes and I now have no symptoms for almost a full year. All tests show clear and my fingers went back to their original size. I had the belief that I could heal and I did. It's possible… Google RA coach the guy Chris is amazing.

  3. Fasting isn’t just the impetus to get how you to change how you eat. I have anecdotal evidence. I have put my aged mother on a whole food vegan diet. Her pain hasn’t went away or even improved, sadly. We are about to do a short fast and see how she tolerates it. Hopefully it will be, if not the panacea, the impetus to clearing up her pain.

The fasting center mentioned, TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, has more information on their website and cooking demos for whole plant foods which can also offer improved energy, mobility, and reduced inflammation even if a person doesn't have a diagnosis. 🥦❤ Thank you Doc and staff, love your work please keep them coming 🥦🎉

  5. What’s happened to eggs lately? Several people have told me pan cooking causes upset stomach but hard boiling eggs DOESN’T. What does THAT mean?

  6. Fasting is only good for people with a fatty liver and too much visceral fat.
    Otherwise giving the microbiome better types of food helps against other inflammatory diseases.

  7. Everybody can do a three day water fast without involving a doctor. This idea of limiting it to 24 hours without medical supervision is silly. We’ve all had a cold or a flu where we didn’t eat for three days.
