DESCRIPTION: The vast majority of chicken and poultry products are injected with phosphorus preservatives, which are often not listed in the ingredients. Reducing one’s intake of meat, junk food, fast food, and processed cheese may help lower intake until labeling is mandated.
This is the third of a three-part video series on phosphate additives added to meat and junk food. The first, Phosphate Additives in Meat Purge and Cola (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/phosphate-additives-in-meat-purge-and-cola), described the risk for the general population associated with the consumption of these preservatives and compared the phosphorus levels in various foods. In my last video, Phosphate Additives in Chicken (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/phosphate-additives-in-chicken), I described the food safety implications (beyond the cardiovascular and kidney concerns).<
I’ve previously touched on the aluminum in cheese in Aluminum in Vaccines vs. Food (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/aluminum-in-vaccines-vs-food). More concerning, though, are the levels of lead in venison (Filled Full of Lead, http://nutritionfacts.org/video/filled-full-of-lead) and mercury in tuna (The Effect of Canned Tuna on Future Wages, http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-effect-of-canned-tuna-on-future-wages).

Wheres the 'how to avoid" part of this video? It seems the only option you're implying is to become a vegetarian.
Thanks Dr Greger 🙂 Not looking forward to inhaling the fumes from the "broth" on the holidays, lol…
I work in a nursing home that has a vegetarian resident with Alzheimer's disease. I was disappointed to see the kitchen accommodates his diet by making him grilled cheese sandwiches EVERY DAY! A "vegetarian" diet is simply too unusual and complicated for their kitchen. Dr. Greger's remark about a grilled cheese sandwich was eye-opening.

The compounds at 0:35 seem so innocent when you're in organic chemistry class… but on a food label…eep!
Scary!

Great info, Thank you.
You're videos are brilliant Dr Greger.
Your dogma is rife with phosphates. So I wouldn't eat that road kill. Ha ha.
Seeing how many phosphates are in cheese reminds me that after reading The China Study I realized that dairy is even worse than meat!
Gran bel video!
wow, shocking!!…..and so good to know.. 🙂

Just discovered your video series. Thank you for the education.
The soy milk i have uses organic gmo-free soybeans but 120mg as calcium phosphate per 100ml is this safe?
I take K2 and D3, Iodine and usually have 1:1 ratio of Cal/Mag daily ?
Says minerals (calcium phosphate) are added to the ingredient and natural flavour, sea salt.
What about tri-calcium phospate that's often added to dairy substitutes as fortification? I rely on fortified dairy products for calcium, but they all seem to include calcium phosphate…
What about calcium phosphate in soy milk and tofu?
