Coming from a country where I almost died and saw my friends “disappear” or beaten up for peacefully protesting, I was shocked to be treated by Houston police like this and having our voice silenced, because they didn’t like what we said (silently and peacefully!!).
๐บ๐ฒ I got my green card under “Exceptional Ability” for my scientific contributions to public health in this country and started a nonprofit, https://www.alliedscholars.org/
Now my speech is censored and my colleague gets arrested for speaking up in Discovery Green, Houston, Texas. ๐ค
I see this as a major setback for Freedom of Speech in this country, and having seen and lived the other side, where there’s no First Amendment rights, it deeply worries me.

and video containing mutilating animals is offencive, and therein lies the issue. i do not want kids to see that horrible stuff but also everyone need to see what they are supporting to realize change needs to happen. it is better to offend than do nothing. ignorance kills more.

No one gets offended or looks away when carrots are pulled from the ground or other fruits and vegetables are harvested. But showing animal-eaters how their meat is produced and harvested is offensive to them; they donโt want to see their guilt. True omnivores wouldnโt be offended. โฆIโm so sad that your/his rights were violated. Thank you for trying to stand up for the voiceless. I hope the officers apologized to him/you and brushed up on who they are supposed to protect.

Man the patient and reasonable behavior of the protestors really made the cops and management look like the tools that they are. Our boy clearly asked for clarification about what was lawful so he could comply and they couldn't answer him because they knew they were full of shit. Didn't stop them from making an arrest though, did it? Cops don't care about the law and they don't care about justice; they care about power and control.
