Preferiti del venerdì: che dire del pollo kosher e biologico?

Confronto dei tassi di contaminazione per E. coli resistenti agli antibiotici e batteri ExPEC che causano infezioni del tratto urinario.

  1. We need to stop feeding all forms of livestock antibiotics. But, as long as our legislators receive financial support (both legal and illegal), that idea is falling on deaf ears. Food might cost more, but how much does a stay in the hospital.

  2. Extraordinary. How anyone can know this and still eat chicken is beyond me. Also … chicken industry shills, lets have a few wisecracks. Come on boys, we're waiting.

  3. It's good information, but i still eat organic chicken daily because of my severe IBS. It's one of the only things i can eat without flaring up, but maybe one day in the future my IBS will improve enough to have something else but as we all know most plant based protein sources wreak absolute havoc on those like me with a sensitive gut, and this is true.

  4. Find chicken:
    – take eggs, eat
    – kill, eat

    – more chicken
    – more feed
    – less space
    – less care
    – less hygiene
    – more desease
    – more bacteria
    – more antibiotics
    – more parasite
    – more bleach
    – less male chicks
    – more shredders
    – more oxygen
    – more color
    – more appealing
    – more bacteria
    – more CO2
    – less healthy
    – more pleasure
    – less expensive
    – more profit

  5. So did you all hear about the Amish farm Mr Aimish that was shut down. That's an organic farm no pesticides no funny stuff no bad feed. Government shut them down. Not every farm uses antibiotics. My uncle's farm doesn't. We need to shut down a lot in this world. But pure organic farming no. Not at all.

  6. For years the meat industry has been feeding the most valuable and effective medicine to livestock, just so they could treat animals even worse, just to make a few more bucks!

Don't think the meat industry cares even a little about your health!

  7. More reasons to get out of animal agriculture and get into cellular agriculture. After that we just need to clean up the environment especially if we can't even kill certain pathogens or viruses with bleach or alcohol.

  8. We have to yell this at the top of our lungs. Like, for real!! We warn about climate change and zoonotic viruses and get ignored; WE CANT LOOSE ANTIBIOTICS. That's it, game over….for real. This isn't a joke…people need to be aware and take this seriously. Stop being reactive, we have no time to spare with this. Thanks Doc for the reminder. 💌

  9. As someone who’s plant based, I’m not eating chicken. But wouldn’t cooking chicken to recommended internal temperature of 155°F be OK?

  10. Yes, iif it is it possible to watch a documentary on factory chicken production and still eat chicken, hopefully, this Information about antibiotics and the danger Will wake people up. Thank you.

  11. Antibiotic resistance is pretty scary. Didnt realize the big deal about antibiotics until I stubbed my foot on a m rusty nail and got infected. For sure had I lived in another time before penicillin my foot/leg would be gone. Crazy one small stub, and with 2 days it took over my whole foot. Was literally one leg hopping to the hospital haha.

  12. Am curious as to what the antibiotics pumping is for in terms of what is actually injuring the animales to cause them to get infected. I know of local neighbors thay never use antibiotics when they raise their own hens, and such and would imagine theyd see more danger being range free than in a 'safe' cage all day. Actually.. I guess they do at each other sometimes. Curious for whats hurting the cows to.

  13. I've been trained in food safety and as with all raw meat:
    1. Keep raw meat under 41F until ready to cook
    2. Cook chicken to an internal temperature of 165F
    3. Use paper towels to clean up raw meat juices to reduce cross contamination
    4. Wash contaminated utensils and plates separately
    5. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling raw meat
