ive taken 4000iu daily for quite a few years now. My last yearly test was 80.
disappointing,. really messy and lazy, not a good summary of the research or for that matter physiology of vitamin d.

There is a new study by Dr.Hollick(the founder? Of D3)that recommends 10k iu per day. It shows new dates about switching genes on and of. Its on pubmed but i didn’t find the link. Maybe u guys have a look for 😉

Dr fauci takes 6000 iu per day. Not a recommendation or anything, just mentioned for curiosity’s sake.
As a tall 260 lb man, taking 10,000 IU a day got my level to 67. Lowering it to 8000 a day only dropped the level to 64. I'm thinking the reason it dropped so little is because the first test was done in winter, and the second was done in summer. The sunlight kept my levels up. I'm currently taking 6000 IU per day because I'm trying to achieve and maintain my level in the fifties.
What started me on all this was reading about how most people are deficient. That got me taking 2000 IU a day for a couple years. Then I got tested for the first time and was shocked to find my level was 18. That taught me that weight has a big effect on your level, and that there is no simple rule of thumb dosage. You have to get tested to be sure.
