Vedi Kempner Rice Diet: Whipping Us Into Shape ( http://nutritionfacts.org/video/kempner-rice-diet-whipping-us-into-shape/).

  1. Brown rice, the unpolished form of rice has the bran layer intact and has been suggested as an alternative for polished white rice. But brown rice has very low palatability, higher arsenic content and lacks the divine taste of white rice, hence not preferred by people widely as an alternative for the white rice.

  2. So, white rice is okay? White potatoes are okay? You have a white potato video showing that kidneys suffer some.  But how many white potatoes per day do this?  Or is it just white, mashed potatoes without the skin?  A better option may be to eat brown rice and sweet potatoes.  I've found that, if sweet potatoes are microwaved long enough, I can eat the skin also.

  3. Perfect video.
The fact tha China and Japan had the lowest rates in 2000's it means a lot
These populations were eating rise for centuries.
    Suddenly something change.
    Guess what.
    Its the meat

  4. 90% of our diet is carbohydrate. Finding rice to be the culprit is disingenuous. Everything can lend to a balance diet, if only we resort to balance and resist junk foods and fast foods.

  5. you cant look at it has one food
nobody really eats white rice alone they eat it will vegetables and drink herbal tea to keep blood sugar in check eat it with some kind of beans or chickpeas that all affects the blood sugar spike and plenty of greens and vegetables no junk food no fatty foods either that's how you can eat it

  6. people been eating white rice for years and there not dead neither am i and i eat white rice with vegan channa massala mmm yummy! delicious

  7. if you eat beans with white rice the beans make slow down the spike you get from it because beans and chickpeas are a slow carb that get released into the blood stream and carry a gut microbiol effect on the other foods.

  8. Korean subtitle

  9. I just know if I eat rice and do a blood sugar test my glucose goes higher than anything else I eat. If you wonder how it affected you, just buy a test kit and check for yourself. Costs less than $100.

  10. sure protein will increase insulin spikes….thats why we diabetics cant eat unlimited amounts of it.moderation in all things.

  11. Yes white rice but all starchy and carbohydrates Foods are very harmful if they're not understood how to eat them use them and whatever the white rice is actually the worst rice you can eat why because they tamper with it they don't Harvest Brown and tamper with it so when you tamper with it and break it down it becomes worse for you but all carbohydrates and starches have to be really understood people so watch out with the carbs and starches

  12. Wrong.
The culprit is wheat; not rice.
Western countries fare worse in chronic disease outcomes because of their consumption of wheat as the staple instead of rice which the Japanese & Chinese consume as staple.

  13. Dr. Greger – you and other Vegan Docs have said that diabetes is associated with saturated fats – not either white or brown rice. Dr. Neal Barnard has done lots of research on this and published studies to support this.

  14. Candida type 2 is caused by candida and many i know did the candida spit test and have it. Antibiotics in meat, stress and alcohol reduce good gut bacteria and illness too, keep up with taking kefir.

  15. The claims made in this video are ridiculous. He says that adding meat to white rice raises the glycemic index. That is not true, it has been commonly known for years that adding protein or fat to carbohydrates LOWERS the glycemic index. There is even a term for it, it is called "the slope" .check out the Oxford study. This guy is a vegan activist so he is going to say that adding meat to anything will always be unhealthy.

  16. Bcoz some people tries to measure the blood sugar right after eating white rice , lol. All the measures are spike up right after eating then back to normal after a few hours

  17. I'v been eating white rice since I was young I'm 30 now and still don't have diabetes my blood sugar is fine, I eat 3 to 4x a day, 5x in some occasion , bcos I'm a Filipino! , but now that people are rich , they can afford to buy meat 🍗 everything that make the tongue sweets and enjoyable to eat, what we do mix with rice is the caused of cancer , diabetes and certain diseases not the rice itself.

  18. Diapetes is not from rice , Chinese people eated rice very long times in history , but today there is McDonalds and sugar food . Sow this rice Connecticuting to diapetes is not and cannot be true

  19. Dr. I would love it if you would do a video showing plates full of food displaying exactly what and how a diabetic could eat in a full day, meaning for breakfast, lunch and for dinner. I'm confused,

  20. I wish there was a study on eating white rice with plant protein and tracking the glycemic index. I would expect that rice and beans wouldn't have the same effect as rice and meat.

  21. I'm sure it's more the fact that more processed food is entering into Asian diets. Also their more sedentary lifestyle in the last 50 yrs. as well as adding way more meat

  22. It’s the fat and oil that causes insulin resistance. That’s why vinegar increases insulin sensitivity caz it is an oil solvent. Eat only sugar and watch 10 days later of no oil no fat your diabetes disappears. Keto is not the solution for diabetes.

  23. Yes and no to the animal protein causing this. I am in china and i find that there are a number of Buddhists in the temples who have diabetes. It is the OIL as well as the processed condiments etc. cut out meat and oil and this problem disappears.

  24. White rice is pure carbs and carbs is not cause of diabetes saturated fat is. Diabetes is a disease of fat toxicity from saturated fats and cholesterol raising foods.

  25. I think white rice and white pasta are probably fine if eaten with some vegetable or beans. It helps keep costs down and the other stuff should help with blood sugar spikes and overeating.

  26. Brown rice is a medium glycemic food, white rice is not. That makes a huge difference. Still, white rice has been consumed in massive quantities in Asia even before the explosion in diabetes there, so something else must be happening, and protein consumption is probably to blame.

Japan and China both have rising meat consumption, and rising consumption of fried, processed foods. Traditionally, these countries ate foods that were steamed and boiled predominantly, and people only occasionally ate meat. Stir frying was actually the Asian equivalent of "fast food", and only available to the affluent.

  27. Proper FOOD COMBINING IS KEY! The fact that you should NEVER eat protein with starch SHOULD be common knowledge. Meat and Potatoes in the same meal is TERRIBLE. A PIZZA with dairy,/cheese, meat and starch from the crust is even worse. Meat is digested much more easily if eaten by itself with a salad of raw veggies. The same goes for starch ie potatoes, grains, bread and the same goes for dairy.

I bet if the Asian diets pre-1950s were studied you'd see a far healthier population with few animal products in the diet and you'd see lots of veggies eaten with their rice instead of meat and a much lower mortality rate..

  28. Nice video, I use Libre and Blucon and love them. The alarms are nice and are loud enough to wake me up. You can adjust your BG ranges to whatever you want. The best part of blucon is I can calibrate it for higher accuracy!

  29. Nice video, I use Libre and Blucon and love them. The alarms are nice and are loud enough to wake me up. You can adjust your BG ranges to whatever you want. The best part of blucon is I can calibrate it for higher accuracy!

  30. It is the carb load that matters the most for diabetes. If you eat a lot of carbs, like 2-3 bowls of white rice per meal you will have to secrete insulin rapidly and thoroughly. I don't buy that protein from meats substantially increase your diabetes either. It is more so to do with excess consumption of sugar. Namely fructose. That is the main driver of diabetes and obesity has very loose or low credible correlation with diabetes. Gaining fat and losing fat is what a healthy body should do with excess food and it is clear that underneath skin is the safest storage of fat. If you get fat, you just lose the weight. It is not a big deal. Fat in the organs is a different story. The reason why diabetes is driven by sugar is because with processed foods that are preserved, basically almost everything has sugar in it. Fructose is not stored as fat underneath the skin. That is the problem because excess sugar consumption has to store the energy somewhere else if it can't the skin. If it can't be stored as fat under the skin, that is actually metabolic inefficiency and that is not even mentioning the full metabolism of sugar. Don't believe it? Drink several cans of soda a day, everyday, and in a year, go visit your doctor for a blood work. Knock yourself out.

  31. Thank you for this. I understand many cultures LIKE white rice, but my choice is always for the whole grains like
brown rice and millet. Dr. Sebi stated "do not eat anything WHITE" (white salt, white sugar, MILK, and yes–cauliflower).
I agree with his advice and have never liked white rice. It is bland and offers little energy/nutrition benefit.

  32. From day one I always know that no problem doesn’t have a solution, but still I was thinking of how to get rid of my diabetes because I couldn’t stand it anymore, but I was suddenly recommended to Dr osaye due to the testimonies I saw, I also saw him on Instagram and then ordered the medicine, I finally came out negative for my test result thanks Dr I appreciate your kind gesture..

  33. If you look at china’s diet, you would understand why.. a lot of their dishes are loaded with sugar, that combined with white rice and you have a deadly combo. White rice is not the only thing to blame here!! So enjoy your white rice, people.. just pair it with lots of vegetables.

  34. They found the 31 famines from the raj (90mill dead) in India made us more prone (adaptive starvation)

  35. Very informative. Mostly I eat red and brown rice, but like white rice with Asian food. This kind of info helps me to stay with red and brown rice. Thanks!

  36. If white rice are diabetic reason 1. Eat small portion or half bowl white rice (basmathi-diabetic rice, or black rice-healthy). 2. High vegetables and super healthy fruits 3. Low meat diet 4. Exercise 5. Daily nutritional anti-inflammatory & Immune System tea drinks.

  37. I'm very confused…all the info I've read on the glycemic index say to add protein/fat to a meal with carbs to lower the glycemic load….
