  1. Dr. Greger would be proud of my daily concoction as I call it. 1 1/2 teaspoon of tumeric, 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast (lots of B12 in it), 1 teaspoon of black cumin seeds, some black pepper, 2 tablespoons of wheat germ, 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed, 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds. Mix it all together slam it down (tastes horrible) then I eat immediately afterwards. I do that right when I get home from the gym when I feel my body is screaming for nutrients. I eat a little more than a handful of walnuts a day, and been vegan for about 7 years now. Love it

  2. Thank you mother Earth/Walnuts, and Plant Based Science London. Always a pleasure to see and hear how we can better ourselves (from the inside out) as we age.

  3. We understand your speech, but Dr Greger's speech often seems slurred. Without your well-pronounced commentary, his information could be lost to many folk.

  4. I had to get the subtitles up for Gregor at 1:20, I thought he said don't over do it with more than a 'couple' nuts a day …what? but that right after saying a handful?? Duh, ….no more than a 'cup' a day of course!

Unless you have a set of those plastic, tiny hands, then two nuts would be a handful….

Btw. Nuts are a little better for you, and taste a little better if you soak them and then dehydrate again. It's no more than a 46 degree C temp for keeping the goodness in though, so a kinda pricey dehydrator is the best way, but I'm sure it could be done in a more diy way over the likes of an oil filled heater! Look up soaking if interested!

  5. I got concerned so I looked up oxalates in nuts. Walnuts are low. Seed-wise, pumpkin seeds are very low. Almonds and Cashews are high. On another note, I wish the proponents of very low fat diets would stop demonizing nuts, seeds and avocados. The fat I eat is not the fat I wear and it does not negatively affect the endothelium either. Even olive oil is seeing better days in research circles. I wouldn't drink it, but I no longer shun a tablespoon on my salad now and then.

  6. Thank you, PBL! I used to enjoy a handful of walnuts every morning with a banana for breakfast, but not since Dr Greger's video on bananas containing an anti-phenonal enzyme that destroys these beneficials. Now i eat them after my last meal for dessert with raisins. The things we learn as time goes by …

  7. hey where do you find these audio clips of him? is it directly from his channel? everytime i see this channel its a greger factoid i was not previously privy to, they are so useful

  8. I seem to recall that Greger had said or had shown that pecans were actually the most nutritious nut, but of course, that is different than the most healthiest nut I suppose and of course, Greger has also shown us a study wherein if you eat just 4 Brazil nuts in one day, it has a protective effect for lowering LDL for a month and that it doesn't matter if you eat more of them or if you eat them every day, just eating 4 in one day will give the same protective effect for the next 30 days……but I was unaware his conviction to walnuts as being superior to all nuts for humans…..thanx for sharing! oh yes, one other tidbit comes to mind on this subject as well, Walnut oil was also shown to be the most nutritious vegetable oil compared to all the others…….like olive oil or safflower oil……..

  9. I looked at the 2 links you posted – thank you. We still need more studies with more people and done over a longer period with stronger hard endpoints. There is still not enough meta-analysis to make these claims. Thank you for posting this.

  10. How not age 😅😅 just look at soyjaked Greger not looking a day over 70. Modest consumption of nuts is ok providing they're soaked, dried and low temperature heated (otherwise the pufa component will oxidise) to reduce their defence inhibitors. Traditionally used in (properly made) deserts/ice-creams

I commenti sono chiusi.
