  1. I absolutely love sweet potatoes. It's been a while since I've had them, though. Sounds like I need to start eating them again. Thanks, Plant Based Science London.

  2. Man, the consistent thing about spinach seems to be that you can't really absorb much of the good things.

I love the subtle flavor–great for smoothies–but as a nutrient-rich food ingredient, there are so many better choices out there. Arugula. Kale. Red cabbage. Sweet potatoes etc….

  3. This amazing. I am not a big fan of sweet potatoes but there are some good curry recipes where you do not taste the sweetness quite as strongly and there is more curry influencing the taste!! But, I love carrots..

  4. This time of year, canned pumpkin puree is found in most grocery stores and big box stores. It sells for about $1.20 per 15 oz can (£.98 for 425 g) so I end up stocking up, and buying 15 to 20 cans of it. In my part of the USA, the canned pumpkin puree is only sold from October to January. With that plain canned pumpkin puree , I've made soup, pasta dishes, rice dishes, waffles, oatmeal, pancakes, homemade pumpkin/white bean/ sage veggie burgers, pumpkin corn bread, and pumpkin scones. Or, yep, you can use pureed sweet potato or pureed winter squash (turban, buttercup, butternut, etc) in any recipe that calls for pumpkin. They are all pretty much interchangeable. And yes, all three contain carotenoids, as well.

  5. The most important question still remains : are the fields where the crop is crown sprayed with the most toxic pesticide glyfocate before planting the new plants ……. So look further if that is the case…. !

  6. The problem for me with sweet potatoes & yams is that I want to put butter on 'em. I really have a desire to consume other dairy, except strawberry or chocolate ice cream on an occasional hot day.
Any ideas to use a substitute would be appreciated. Benecol is about the best taste & health wise that I can find.

  7. There’s a really nice holiday recipe out there, for sweet potatoes. It works best with the orange sweet potatoes, as far as I can tell. It’s pineapple glazed sweet potatoes. The recipe is in “The Vegetarian Epicure” by Anna Thomas, though she dubbed it “pineapple glazed yams”. I always used sweet potatoes. It calls for butter, but you can easily substitute the same amount with CANOLA, or with something else that’s vegan like that “Earth Balance” spread. 😉💜🍠🍍🍠💜😋

  8. I have sweet potatoes cut up with bananas, blueberries, raspberries blackberries and sprinkle some cinnamon over it OMG so yummy for breakfast!

  9. I used to confuse yams for sweet potatoes until someone educated me on the different kinds.Yams are elongated and pointed on the ends. The orange frozen french fries that many people eat are actually yams. I know there are different color schemes of both, types. I guess we learn something knew everyday.

  10. Yeah – but sweet potatoes are too expensive for many people and even the price of carrots has been considerably hiked since supermarkets etc began using Putin's SMO intervention in Ukraine as a pretext to jack up the price of almost everything by between approx 25%-100% . Or have you somehow not noticed ?

  11. my father tell story his family grow up in china early 1900 eat sweet potato garlic…. his sister died 106 96 my mother passed 93 my young uncle 90 live harbin china garlic and sweet pototo keep skin your going live to 100.0000000

  12. if you cut into thin round slices, dip them in lime juice and cover in cracked black pepper then microwave them on baking paper (roughly 5 mins mins one side, turn them all over and do another 2 mins or so) then take out and let them cool. You end up with crispy chips that are so good
Trick is getting the cooking time right so you get them out just before they start to turn brown
so easy and so yummy though
I have tried adding a little miso paste to the lime juice before dipping to make them so they are a little salty tasting too, seems to make them even better

  13. I use sweet potatoes for my parrots and my dogs as well. It makes a great and healthy binder for my parrots chop. I use a small bit to hide my dogs medicine in as I give it to her. Sweet potatoes are delicious and healthy 😋

  14. I love sweet potatoes and bake them and just sprinkle a little cinnamon powder over them, no need to add anything else, plus I only eat organic. Americans use so much sugar in most sweet potato recipes that I can't even eat them, not much on heavy sweets.

  15. I have cirrhosis 40yrs now and l find if you Thank God for everything meals included you can eat plants or meat and be insured that you will Live until your Time Comes. But have No fear of anyone or thing but fear the Lord for He is the one that gave you Life in the first place from the Womb. AMEN. Cirrhosis is a life threatening disease but after life we face Eternal Judgement by our Creator. AMEN.!!!

  16. I wish I liked sweet potatoes but I don't. I hate them so much that I think that they should be put back in the ground where they came from. But the leaves are pretty good.

  17. We have them a lot. I boil them in the microwave for 20-30 mins depending on their size. We eat a drizzle of honey on them and sometimes I put cinnamon on mine too. Also, if I am cooking something in the crockpot, I wrap our sweet potatoes in foil and put them on top to cook all day. Delicious!

  18. Please use a 'paring knife' to peel with, that huge knife is wasting a large part of your sweet potato since the thick, wide blade cannot follow the contours of the sweet potato. The person demonstrating the peeling must have never peeled anything before.

  19. The fact so many npc sheep listen to a word dr Gregor says is hilarious, and shows how low vibrational and lost so many people are. Welcome to the matrix

  20. although invitro studies are always promising absorption in a full grown adult will be significantly different, eggs have all the nutrients listed in this study and arw known to have a high absorption rate in full griwn adults,

  21. We live where the most sweet potatoes are grown. So we eat them at least 3 times a week straight from the farms. Usually steamed or air fried. I love it when we have a medium sized one each. Split down one side and fill with chopped onion, sliced mushrooms. Som low fat carnation milk, top with some cheese and cook. That is a favourite dinner and I knew they were good for us but I never knew why.

  22. If you want a higher copper intake as well which is linked to better health, sweet potatoes are a must. Just roll them around in some olive oil, coat in a mix of herbs and chuck them on a tray in the oven…can't beat it!.

  23. Doctor Gregor does not know what the h*** he's talking about. Sweet potatoes are sugary carbs and are detrimental to people with diabetes. All you have to do is just look at the poor shape that he's in to know that he's wrong. Bloated belly, skinny arms and weak overall. I do the opposite of what he says.

  24. Ever notice how vegans all look like vegans? LOL Pasty and pale and unhealthy looking. I will never go back to the standard American or vegan diets. They almost killed me. I would rather be healthy and eat MEAT so to ALL of the vegans please keep eating the plants and bugs so I can have more meat. Thank you.

  25. Only people with no color in their skin need to be worried about the sun. Funny as hell how nobody preaches THAT!🤣 Oh yeah, the "scientists" are the ones with no color in their skin.🙄

  26. Thank you for that information, I just wish I could persuade my husband to eat them. I eat as many veg as I can outside the brassica group, being allergic to the latter.

  27. Contents of the video are good, however the Title of the video is Bad.
Instead of surprise sude effects,it ought to have been Surprising benefits…🎉🎉🎉

  28. "Side Effects" is a term that always connotes something negative, to me. To see it on this programme as referring to positive effects of taking in vitamin A properties, is a starker for me. Perhaps "side benefits" may be a better title or nomen? Just saying. 🤔😏🌴

  29. Excellent audio information , but the visual of PEELING the potato kills it! There is sooo much nutrition in the skin. Dr. Greger has a video on that. If you boil or pressure cook the potato you don’t need to remove the skin to mash it into a quesadilla, lasagna, too a slice of toast or flat breads or toss into a smoothie etc as the skin becomes so soft.

  30. Utter rubbish, just eat good meat and expose yourself sensibly to the sun. Diets rich in carbs results in diabetes that rots brains far more than any speculative starchy veg micronutrient deficiency.

  31. Eat the skin! Wash well first. The best nutrition is the skin.of these
healthy powerhouses. I put them in my toaster oven at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes then eat whole when cooled.

  32. Although it is just a video shoot, at least used a appropriate knife ( peeling knife) at the same time can educate the audience the proper way to do the peeling. The knife in the usage is like a dumb doing the job
