Potrebbero essersi entrambi sbagliati.

  1. Except LDL's aren't bad. More bad news for Pfizer includes a doubling of heart failure rates since statins were introduced (Circulation, February 6, 2006). A new study of older men and women shows that higher LDL-cholesterol levels are associated with decreasing mortality risk in women. For both men and women, the risk of fatal heart failure decreases with higher LDL-cholesterol levels (Journal of the American Geriatric Society, December 2005).

  2. If you do drink alkaline water, its alkalinity is quickly removed by the highly acidic gastric fluid in the stomach.

Uptake of water occurs mainly in the intestine, not in the stomach. But when stomach contents enter the intestine, they are neutralized and made alkaline by the pancreatic secretions — so all the water you drink eventually becomes alkaline anyway.

  3. Man don't be an idiot. Baking soda reaches no where near the alkalinity, I've put baking soda in my tap water. The pH barely went above 7. It also doesn't give the water a negative charge, which allows it to do this: /watch?v=yVwAHPvzkS8

  4. You can also use lye to raise pH but I would not recommend drinking it. Calcium is base but you need magnesium and other minerals to absorb it. It does not take a genus to understand the benefits of using a pure source of minerals compared to baking soda to alkalize you water. You are right you don't need a 6000.00 or even a 1000.00 machine to ionize your water, your better off using a natural source of god made minerals. To learn more friend me on FB Mitch Thornell

  5. I spoke to someone from Okinawa, he said he's passionate about health and checked out correlations between alkalinity of water and health status of the okinawans consuming it….he said they're definitely correlated.

The principles of these ionization machines is very different than adding the powder. it also cleans the water and restructures it. I think the water is not "just" alkaline due to measurement.

  6. That study has nothing to do with alkaline water – it's about sodium-rich, carbonated mineral water. Furthermore – the study has no application to anyone but post-menopausal women… Oh – and I don't see the size of the cohort mentioned nor any mention of a control group — so at best, all you can derive from it is perhaps a weak correlation… in post-menopausal women. You absolutely CANNOT logically derive ANY conclusion of causation… i.e. maybe it was the carbonation, or the sodium, or perhaps it was time of year (with no control group, that's as logical as concluding the pH of the water had ANYTHING to do with it)…

pH woo doesn't deserve ANY attention! It's an uncontroversial, well-established fact that the food and drink we ingest has absolutely no bearing on our blood pH. Our kidney's and homeostasis maintain it in the VERY narrow range of 7.35-7.45. Deviation by even a few decimal points is a medical emergency that can be fatal (acidosis / alkalosis)…. AND YET: in years of searching, I've yet to find even 1 case of acidosis being caused by ingestion of food or drink (and this includes looking at cases of heroin addicts who mainline lemon juice/vinegar/ascorbic acid directly into their veins; and cases of German teens trying to commit suicide with industrial strength acetic acid (vinegar)… no acidosis to speak of there…
Acidosis is caused by kidney or respiratory issues – not food or drink…
You don't need to worry about your pH – homeostasis does that for you.

  7. It doesn't really matter so much how the alkaline water is made, alkaline water isn't good for you, full stop. Give it 5 more years for this pyramid to reach saturation, and then the miracle acid water making machines will flood the market.

  8. This is the stupidest misinformation I have seen in quite a while!! I am an expert in water, and this idiot has no idea what he is talking about! Nutrition lies is what should be associated with him! Disgusting!

  9. i have an allergic reaction to baking soda when i use it to treat dandruff or when its used as an ingredient in deodorant, so i´m not too sure to drink water treated with baking soda
also, does the scam part include alkaline water energy nano flask? my mom just bought it. it wasn´t so expensive, 32 euros for a flash, so i´m not sure whether it´s a scam

  10. These results are more then likely just the effect of drinking more water… Americans don't drink enough water and this more then likely forced them to drink the regular amount needed.

  11. This time will disagree with Dr. Greger. Just sodium carbonate not very good for your health. Some mix with the potassium version of it to keep the Na/K balance.

  12. What an insufferable and stupid video. First off, if you are going to claim that something is a scam you should explain why it is a scam. So, electro de-ionization creates water that is mostly hydroxyl based liberating hydrogen, this is what the alkaline water units do, nothing new, secret or extraordinary.
Distilled water is NOT one that does not have living organisms, that has got to be the stupidest statement I have ever read. The goal of distilled water is to be pure water, one that does not contain any ionic species. Pure water has a very high resistance to conductivity and this is how purity is measured.
Now, is this guy really a doctor? Any doctor worth his salt knows that sodium bicarbonate while it does alkalize water it is also a risk for those who suffer of high blood pressure. Why do you think doctors recommend limiting salt intake? Because of the sodium ion! SO while water can be alkalized with NsHCO3, it is not safe form some segment of the population. This entire video is crap and clearly this "doctor" is a quack!

  13. I saw in one of Dr. Greger's video he mentioned the ideal pH range for our drinking water. Can anyone point me to that video or can Dr. G let us know what that range is? I think he was saying that 8 is the best and that above 8.5 is too high.

  14. Once upon avtime I watched a veiew videos that caused confusion….. The end.

People just drink water and take a simple ph strip and see if your body is acidic or alkaline. Then fix it, through diet or add bicarb to water. Stop being a sheeple

  15. I have a Kangen water machine and I can say that I've seen the water help a lot of people. For myself the only difference I notice is improved hydration and I think we need more research on it, but the people calling it magical miracle water are just salesmen.

  16. I think the jury is still out on this one. I usually believe Dr. Gregor, but I’ve seen too many people “first hand” benefit from these machines. To each his own, but to proclaim it a scam is not fair.

  17. I'm still on the fence about this. What about the active hydrogen in the water a Kangen machine produces along with the higher pH? Active hydrogen supposedly acts as an antioxidant; removing free radicals and protecting DNA from oxidative damage.

  18. What about the ionization of water (negative ions) and the micro-clustering of water molecules particularly in the Kangen water machines(Japanese)?

You solely talked about alkalinity in this video. However, the negative ions or anti-oxidance properties were not addressed.

  19. Kangen water machine is a lifetime asset for a family. Only non users can abuse kangen water, once you used it you will be tha fan of kangen water.

  20. Now they all know it's not the alkalinity of the water that was responsible for the health effect. It turned out that it was the hydrogen gas generated from the electrolysis that was responsible for selectively neutralizing the cytotoxic hydroxyl free radical that contributed to health enhancements. The H2 gas has been found to change genes expression towards health.

  21. Doc, you always have good info, BUT you may want to do a little more digging on this subject.

There is a difference between alkaline and electrolyzed reduced water produced by medical grade machine mainly Kangen 💦
