  1. I cannot stress enough the values of legumes to the human diet. I ALWAYS stress to my clients to skip meat a few days a week and replace them with beans. The protein content is what our bodies need, especially our digestive system. People can be stupid: beans DO NOT automatically relate to gas. Soaking overnight eliminates that issue. And skimming (depending on your cooking method).

  2. I love how full legumes make me feel! Plus they're so versitile, I make spreads and cakes and even chocolate cream out of them. Glad they're as healthy as delicious🌱😍

  3. I've been trying to up my legume intake but get abdominal cramps, disrupted sleep and feel significantly weaker when I rely upon them as a primary protein source. Does anyone have any advice exactly WHICH legumes to focus on to get my protein but without those side-effects that I experienced?

  4. i become a living balloon/brain zombie when i eat beans (100g dry mass yellow/red lentils on average…but tried other legumes like soy, azuki, kidneys and beluga as well…always the same outcome) – the outcome is the same even if i monomeal the stuff, but its really terrible if i mix them in with other foods
and yes even after eating them day by day by day by day
no microbiome adaptation in me apparently
and yes these experiments were done on low fat (20-50g overt nut/seed a day) cooked whole food plant based…no oil no salt blabla, all foods made with no shit in them, prepared by me with an autistic level of perfect care

beans are an "antinutrient" to my body haha

  5. I love beans eat them everyday……. Listen to Berg or delauer they're like…..BEAN? NOOOO it's CARBS!!!…broscientist pfft….. Gregor? Real Scientist….Ever Notice at the beginning of most Monster Horror flicks there is a Scientist shouting from the roof tops…. yet he/she is Ignored?

  6. wow, as i gave up eating Meat at the start of the year, i made sushi this week, and i used exactly that.. legume beans and herbs.. thank's for the conformation..

  7. My PAD symptoms (night cramps for months, severe calf pain during exercise, numbness in feet, etc, etc) ALL gone within weeks of going on my whole food, plant based lifestyle. May not be 'scientific, but that's the ONLY lifestyle change I implemented. I don't take meds. If you are having issues of any kind with your body / health… you really owe it to yourself to try WFPB / vegan lifestyle. Why keep on feeling sick when it's so easy to heal?

  8. Plus they're tastey and satisfying. Though one winter, in my twenties, lean and fit, we ate beans and rice every day and I got gout from it.

  9. When I was a kid in the 80s we used to have this silly poem that went "Beans, beans good for your heart. The more you eat, the more you f*rt!" We had no idea what great nutritional advice it was! 😂

  10. Beans, beans are good for your heart the more you eat the more you fart, the more you fart the better you feel so eat beans at every meal ! Everyone already new this 👈

  11. been on the plant based diet for 4 months now and the beans are still gassing everyone out, i thought it was supposed to clear up way before now. and yes i tried adding probiotics. any help would be appropriated TIA

  12. When we lived in Costa Rica, we'd eat gallo pinto (black beans with rice, onions, tomatoes, garlic & Lizano sauce) every morning. It was delicious! 😄

  13. Nice! Good thing I been eating them for almost my lifetime but since the time I went vegan, I been eating more. And no, I rarely gas, not most of the time like some people think lol. But been eating more canned refried black/pinto beans than the others since I like those more. So what about my favorite beans? I don't see it on your list in this video. Is it still the same as the dried ones? Well, keep up the great work. 🌱♥️🌎☮️✌️

  14. You are THE man! White Knight! If you where a raper your was name whould be Kaledawg! " That nigga is craaazy he only eat raw kale" "WOOOORD?" " WORD! i heard that nigga is a white cancer terminator"

  15. Did anyone notice that the #10 most nutrient dense vegetable was FRENCH FRIES! Is this a typo? If not, FRENCH FRIES beat the next 37 vegetables. How can this be? Broccoli, the great super vegetable was #18. Dr. Greger, please explain. :-0

  16. If we cant trust the too good to be true nut stories, why should we trust beans as being special? It does not make sense to control for meat substitution because what is the substitute, maybe oil, lard? What if the substitute was fruit, sweet potatoes, whole grains, then surely any special association to beans disappears. I am sure beans are good but are they better than sweet potatoes, I doubt it.
