  1. Everytime I eat dates I get itchy throat and ears and then become extremely cramped up in my stomach and bloated. This is obviously an allergy or intolerance, anyone know how to fix this?

  2. They may be beneficial in terms of the nutrients that they contain, but dates are also packed with sugar, the one thing that ruins anything good about them.

  3. Dates are blessed food by prophet Mohammed pbuh over 1400 years ago knew the benefits of dates..and that's why Muslims break their fast by eating dates first always and is treasured food . ✌❤

  4. I prefer dates on their own tbh. My dad has a friend who brings him dates from his country. Idk the name of these specific dates but they’re definitely not medjool. They’re a drier variety. I like them way better

  5. Dear Mr. Greger! I became a raw foodist a year ago. My height is 170 cm, the weight was 68 kg, now I have only 55 kg and I just can’t gain weight. Maybe you can tell me what combinations of fruits and vegetables can help me? Thank you very much in advance.

  6. "Fossil records show that the date palm has existed for at least 50 million years." There is archeological evidence of date cultivation in Mehrgarh around 7000 BCE, a Neolithic civilization in what is now western Pakistan.

Not realizing we have religion in ancient Egypt, the egyptian book of the dead is like 3000 B.C … But its just another branch of religion that goes even further back in time.. The root of religion is so old you would get enlightented if you understood 10.000 BC we had Göbekli Tepe and older civlizations with older religions… But the Rulers of the Earth are changing the rules in religion..

  7. 2:06 Colon lumen can't be the most metabolically active site of the human body since technically lumen of any part of guts is not a human body, it's a site outside of a human body. What's the well-educated doctor would read all that crap after reading that statement?

  8. Why would ANYONE twist a testicle of any animal or human? That’s inhumane and it hurts me to hear this. I think medical science goes way too far sometimes. That was unnecessary! I wants to hear the benefits of eating dates, not how a scientist tortured a poor mouse. 😡

  9. Do the dates have to be dried or can they be fresh? I've had some fresh ones from specialty stores and they are good and less sweet. and, If the dates are freeze-dried do they still possess these benefits? Thanks to anyone who may know these answers !

  10. The only reason I dont est dates and no dried fruits in general (except low sugar ones like dried berries lr apricots or so occassionally) is because of the fact that they are so sticky and sugary, that they will increase my chance for plaque/caries in my teeth. Thats one of my biggest fears, so I avoid foods that expose my teeth to sugar, especially sticky chewy highly concentrated sugar like dried fruits

  11. I have a bag of NOW FOODS date sugar and a bag of Bob's Red Mill date sugar. Interesting to note that NOW has 10 calories/tsp and BOB's has 15 calories/tsp, which somewhat correlates with your study showing Bob's has more antioxidant capacity as it appears to be a more concentrated food. Both of my bags have exp. dates of mid 2020, and in a taste test, I thought the Bob's tasted much sweeter and much better. The NOW brand is not very sweet and almost a little bit bitter; Bob's has a nice bright and sweet flavor. It's really difficult to find Bob's date sugar where I live, but kroger.com will ship it— great price and free shipping over $35 (buy six 12-oz bags = free shipping)

  12. I ate dates in the weeks prior to giving birth to my daughter. I had a great labor and delivery. Everyone in my group of expecting moms who ate dates had easy labors. Though one gave birth in the car on the way to the hospital because she didn't realize she was in labor until she was very close to giving birth, in "transition."

  13. I love that you are plant based. I am too. So my question is why are test still experimented on live animals? So, it's not ok to eat the animals, but it's ok to test on them? Doesn't that seem a bit hypocritical? I'm not condemning, I'm asking straight out. It seems to me if we truly want to know the facts of various food on our human health, then shouldn't it be humans who we test on? And before anyone goes off on me about human rights, hear me out. For example, if someone has MS, for example, then wouldn't it make more sense to get that persons, DNA, Blood test, and study that? Aren't the physiologies of dogs, cats, rats, different from human beings? So why test on them?

  14. Prophet Muhammad ص recommended people to eat dates 1400 years ago for health reason.

He was way ahead of his time.

  15. Recently I ran out of a rich organic brown sugar that I feed my water kefir and needed to go to the store, but wouldn't make it for a day. So, I fed them a date because I heard that rich dried fruit is good for them. My water kefir (which I have been drinking daily for almost 4 years for anxiety and depression — for which I used to suffer chronically, and have been completely free of since without medication) was getting a little too yeast cultured and I was starting to get scared that my probiotic friends might be dying. After rinsing them, adding in a dried date (without the seed), the water was fizzing within a few hours. The strains of bacteria (my probiotics) loved it! They actually started populating again within a few days and the sour smell started to go away. I figure, if they love it this much, then the ones that make it to my colon are going to also. And then I saw this video just now. I know why now. Happy health to all! #pharmfreefor4years #foodismedicine

  16. I love dates, but I discontinued eating them after I attended a conference some time ago where an history professor claimed that in the ancient Egypt, people were very much affected by tooth cavity, which in some case eventually led to death (poor nutrition, without teeth). Apparently, according to this history professor, dates contain some kind of enzyme that causes teeth to rot. Has anyone ever heard anything about it?

  17. Dr. Greger, Please do not include such gory details regarding animal abuse. It is gratuitous violence. Some of us are very upset while you seem to have emphasized it.

  18. As a matter of fact, I am unsubscribing now and will not be viewing these otherwise helpful videos due to the animal cruelty referred to within.

  19. If you’re ever in New York, you need not concern yourself with a place to stay or food to eat I am a plant-based vegan for over 30 years and would be delighted to prepare food for you and find you a lovely home to stay in with one of my friends. I so appreciate all the work you do and your motivation for doing it, it is so beautiful and I am sure your grandma is delighted 😃

  20. not to be that guy but, when i heard the number of 7 dates a day… that's what the prophet muhammed precisely advised us, 7 dates a day, or atleast don't consume a pair number of dates, damn

  21. I heard somewhere that you should not eat more than 2 dates a day.. But here, it sounds like it is ok to eat more then 2..?? My problem is I like it so much that if there is no restriction, I can easily eat 10 a day then getting too much sugar I think..

  22. I will never forget the day I came across Dr igho YouTube channel, i will always keep it memorable , thank you doctor for helping me cure my Cancer naturally , because of you, I hope too live again I feel more alive, thank you Doc
