  1. Thank you for always providing scientifically sound, well studied information! My routine? First like your video- then listen/ watch the video- listen again since it is filled with nuggets. Very grateful for your work!

  2. I usually get eaten alive by mosquitos. Even when I dine in outdoor restaurants in the summer evenings in the city I will come home with at least one or two mosquito bites. I used DEET when I went to Ghana and did not get a single bite. I also used Victoria Secret's perfume called Bombshell for added protection. I'm going to Malawi in September and plan to bring DEET….

  3. Citronella and eucalyptus spray;. I will try that the next time when in Mexico. I do not want Deet because I have one kidney and don't want to make it work more to filter the Deet out of my body. Mosquitos see me coming and I've got bitten so many times to the point that I probably already have the antibodies to diseases like Dengue. But don't take any chances all you first time Travellers.

  4. When I lived near a lagoon in Mexico, I thought I was going to be eaten alive by mosquitos until I began drinking 2 tablespoons of diluted apple cider vinegar a day. I was told that the vinegar renders your blood unsuitable as food for mosquito larvae, so mother mosquitoes leave you alone. Whatever the reason, it seemed to work.

  5. WHAT??? You dirty dog…..what a cliffhanger……my guess is THERE is something that works better and is less toxic….can't wait to see what it is…..guessing its some form of veggie!

  6. Since the title suggests an included ANSWER , would it be too much trouble for him to actually include the answer? It must have been urgent that we get this info, that he posted HALF of the video as a teaser! Or, was this just click bait, to get his numbers up? I guess we don't know, until WE PUT IT TO THE TEST?

  7. Saturates tissue in deet. Place inside your suitcase with all your clothes several days before you travel. Place Suitcase inside a plastic bag.

  8. My preference has been picaridin 20%. Works great and safe for plastics and synthetics. I am eager to hear what the results are.
Permethrin works really well on clothes but in liquid form is dangerous for fish and cats. Care in application is needed.

  9. I've been subscribed to Dr Gregor's channel here for close to a decade now.
The only time I ever offer a thumbs-down/dislike on his videos is when at the end of the video he says: "find out next" because his next video never follows up with the said information.

  10. DEET is a potent neurotoxin. You'd have to be already brain damaged to use it. Tons of safe alternatives exist including magnesium chloride spray.
Please Dr. Greger be more careful with your videos.

  11. WTF? That stuff is toxic trash. As someone with MCS I can't be around the fumes people give off when they've sprayed themselves with this garbage. Wear long sleeves and netting if you really need it. Polluting the air is inexcusable.

  12. Picaridin is better than DEET. It doesn't melt synthetic materials, and it repels a wider range of insects.

  13. Oddly enough I found that since starting on penis enlargement supplements I can go anywhere and the 🦟 mosquitoes never touch me. But so far my penis hasn't gotten any bigger!

  14. Your motivation for avoiding mosquito is largely based upon incidents in underdeveloped countries, yet the call to action seems to be for even developed countries without any separate risk-reward analysis.

  15. Thank you for sharing! I thought it was super toxic but still used it occasionally when not using it would make going outside impossible. I am glad to find that it isn't too toxic. Just anecdotally, I have found some alternatives even worse – for example citronella candles and torches tend to trigger athsma

  16. We live in interior Alaska where mosquito swarms are legendary. Deet is by far the most effective repellent other than using gloves, jacket, headnet. Deet is indeed the gold standard where aggressive swarms are the norm up here in Alaska. Deet does damage plastics!

  17. how about ticks? Where I live there are LOTS of them, i have little kids and they come with borreliosis. Deet seems to work on them

  18. What about long-term effects? I feel like it would be pretty difficult to tell whether it caused cancer or some other disease years down the line.

  19. The wisest thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different streams of income that doesn't depend on the govt. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in Gold, Silver and digital currencies (BTC,ETH…)

  20. I use deet when in Jamaica. Careful of that pedicure though because it will ruin nail polish and even your sandals.

  21. So basically you have just repeated what was said 20 years ago and never explained if Deet the best mosquito repellent. Why post a video that asks a question but never answers it? Well find out is the answer to this?
