DESCRIPTION: Though there have been more than a thousand papers published on coconut oil in medical journals, there is little evidence it helps with Alzheimer’s disease. The “shouted from every mountain top” argument is not entirely convincing. For example, we’ve known for decades that our #1 killer is preventable and reversible (see http://nutritionfacts.org/video/resuscitating-medicare/, http://nutritionfacts.org/video/our-number-one-killer-can-be-stopped/, and http://nutritionfacts.org/video/china-study-on-sudden-cardiac-death/), yet the medical community continues to rely more on drugs and surgery. Why? Well they likely weren’t taught clinical nutrition in medical school (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/medical-school-nutrition-education/), or after medical school (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/california-medical-association-tries-to-kill-nutrition-bill/), and the medical establishment has shown a disturbing inertia even when presented with convincing evidence (see http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-tomato-effect/). The difference is that coconut oil doesn’t have the data to back it up. What’s the potential downside of giving coconut oil a try? Find out in my next video Does Coconut Oil Clog Arteries? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/does-coconut-oil-clog-arteries/).<br />

100 Risposte a “Does Coconut Oil Cure Alzheimer’s?”

  1. Anyone who refers to fit people as "bone-bags" has skewed sense of perception. The people in "80/10/10 proof" aren't "gaunt." They are fit.

You're fat. I'm not saying that to be mean, but it's a sad fact. You've a pretty face, but you're no more svelte than most woman on SAD.

  2. You didn't offer an argument piggy, just a stream of piggy filth. So I did what I'd do with any pig. 😉

If you can point out any actual argument in that stream, feel free to post it and I'll address it.

  3. You're such a coward, criticising others while you hide.

But the fact is that I'm not skinny. But hey, I'm a entire 100 pounds lighter than when I was vegan and my diabetes and heart disease is gone. So the obvious answer here is paleo is BETTER for me than veganism. It's really tough to dispute that… jesus.

  4. No he isn't… This is him in an interview last year youtube.com/watch?v=52A3ayfxfTs

He has a genetically fat neck (like vegetarian Dean Ornish) but he doesn't even have a skin fold over his belt when sitting.

  5. Hey, I'll even help you. Here is Sally Fallon's talk on "Nourishing Diets"– I've commented at least a dozen times in the last few weeks… show us the ones where I support her.

    youtube.com/all_comments?v=p3ehzZ3yNyw

  6. And let's try being genuine… you're not saying it to be mean? Don't be ridiculous. Most of what you say you say to be mean, why would this be different? Are you afraid of sounding like an ass for the criticism? Don't be… we all already know you're an ass.

Tip– open your screen view ALL the way to the last image taken indoors.

  7. Yeah, I'm funny like that… if it clucks, I treat it like a chicken… and if it quacks I treat it like a duck… and in your case, when it oinks and wallows in the filth, I treat it like a pig.

Try being decent and respectful and I'll treat with respect. Otherwise, you're just a pig.

  8. If I'm attacked, the gloves are off. Look at your very first commet to me in this thread… ("Hey PaleoCuntress, why don't you go and fuck off?")

I didn't say anything to you (or anyone) that would warrant such an attack. You're just ugly inside and it spills out and you can't seem to help it. Now if you have a question or an argument, feel free to share it. If you're the sock of another commenter here, I didn't know it.

    Just try being genuine.

  9. Hey, look at that! I was pretty sure you could do it! Bravo!

So again, what is it that YOU want addressed cuz this BS about everyone else's argument is tiring.

Don't be a bandwagon-er Carlos… think and speak for YOURSELF.

  10. Yeah, as is Dean Ornish… ~rolls eyes~

What's become clear though is that YOU are fat. Not only do you hide behind a generic icon, but you have used the the phrase "I'm not trying to be mean" just before you called someone fat quite literally DOZENS of times at different sites on the web- while hiding behind their generic icons. It's like your fat vegan mating call.

Either put up or shut up, fat vegan.

  11. So you admit Cordain is a size 40 or more in the video dated 3 years ago, and he's been on paleo for over 20 years. How did he get fat?

Ornish isn't a vegan or even vegetarian. He eats fish and recommends fish oil.

  12. I don't know how Cordain got fat, I'm guessing the same way you did. At least he didn't hide behind a floret and fat-bash everyone else though.

Ornish does NOT recommend (nor eat) fish. His fish OIL recommendation is "a dosage that includes approximately 1g of combined EPA and DHA per day".

Every other food recommendation (like salad dressing) is preceded by "fat free".

Sorry dude. You REALLY should spend at LEAST 30 seconds researching before you put your foot in your mouth.

  13. Aww chenchy, you're just sore cuz you claimed Dean Ornish ate fish and took tons of fish oil and that THIS explained why he had such a FAT FACE. Once I proved that claim false, you went back to claiming he was an authority. He either IS or he ISN'T. You can't use him on both sides of your argument.

The Ornish diet sucked ass next to low-carb Paleo. Bummer for you, but true nonetheless.

  14. Wow chenchy, I think that might be the first true thing you've said! You're right, it was gyration that made that claim. All of the vile vegans sound the same… ~shrugs~ You could each stand in for one another, not an original thought in the bunch.

Bottom line though. The Ornish diet sucked ass. Ornish isn't someone you want to be quoting.

  15. Comparison of the Atkins, Ornish, Weight Watchers, and Zone Diets for Weight Loss and Heart Disease Risk Reduction | JAMA. 2005;293(1):43-53

Atkins Diet beat out Zone, Ornish, and something similar to the Food Pyramid for weight loss, blood pressure reduction, and improvements in blood lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides).

  16. Oh totally chenchy… I opened a BUNCH of other accounts just so I could vote you down only very occasionally even though every comment you've written in the last months was vile and abusive. That would only make sense to a vegan mind. But hey, persecution complexes are common among vegans so you're welcome to it.

  17. This is a direct quote from the published paper.

    iub.edu/~k536/articles/diet/popular%20diet%20JAMA.pdf

"The Ornish group aimed for a vegetarian diet containing 10% of calories from fat."

    You are JUST. SO. LAME.

Gee, you mean Ornish got better results when he tested his OWN diet? Shocking!

  18. From the man himself–

"When you have a lot of small, dense LDL particles – sometimes referred to as “pattern B” – they are more likely to end up in your arteries." ~Dr. Dean Ornish

"Decreased plasma LDL particle size has been associated with premature coronary artery disease (CAD)" Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology. 1992; 12: 187-195

    (cont.)

  19. (cont.)

"Low saturated fat and cholesterol intakes were significantly associated with SMALLER LDL particles." Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology. 1992; 12: 1410-1419

"In contrast, the plasma concentration of the predominant small, dense LDL particle subfraction correlated strongly with intima-media thickness (IMT) of the common carotid artery." Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology. 1999; 19: 2422-2430

  20. How many false account do you actually have, Carlos? Do you know how utterly LAME it is that you vote yourself up 11 times over and over?

    Laaaame.

    You are lame.

  21. Yes, dear- 11 unique IDs went back in the comments an entire month and voted only YOUR comment up. And originally they did it when the comment was an entire week old… and then 2 weeks later, and then 3 weeks later, 11 of them did it again. They all come back every week, every last one, just to vote your one comment up. Exactly 11 of them each time

    Of course they did.

    Lame.

  22. You can PM me. Though if you're looking for more info on Paleo diets specifically, I'd suggest robbwolf. com, marksdailyapple. com, or Harvard biochemist Mat Lalonde.

  23. You can always visit the multiude of sites that promote the paleo diet. That being said, many archeologists have argued that the diet itself is innaccurate as to what the true paleo diet was, the paleo diet is a plant based diet with a variety of foods. Focus on healthy, High fiber foods as your plant foods.

  24. this guy is a typical ignorant disinformer who like you say (jesse) works for Pfizer and they DO NOT want people finding natural cures . Just google Coconut Oil cure for alz. and you will find much . Add some folic acid and omega 3's in there and you have a big winner ,even for dementia . How much did they give the people in his test? he didn't even say . What a joke . Anyhow whos research ends here with this smucks video is a poor researcher .

  26. It's not just coconut oil, dumbass, it's also a ketogenic diet. Ketones are what Dr. Newport talks about when she's doing her research. MCT oil induces ketones, but with a crappy overall diet, or people eating a standard diet in a trial, it's not going to work.

  27. Most General Praticioners are trained in pushing drugs as that is all they are taught. They have no idea about nutrition….Natural cures are not going to make money for the Governments. Have you ever considered that the Governments want people to get sick and die as it is a fantastic business. Drug share markets have never looked so good. India, Thailand and Asia have hardly no people with dementia. Do I need to say more..God bless

  28. Not saying yea or nay on the coconut oil, I don't know, but, the sarcasm in this report is telling. Maybe this guy is a slave to pharmaceuticals…beware. You know they pay people to debunk natural cures. Check with Dr. Mercola or Natural news as they usually provide laboratory studies with their articles. Although, all news is suspect today, as the elite pull money out of circulation and we all scramble to survive. Evil is in control and we must be vigilant, discerning and strong.

  29. the funny thing is that they all claim to be facts (including your rants). so in that case who really knows? Oh yea and stop using that tone of voice while discrediting because because you sound like an upset teenager being sarcastic. You need to sound professional like a doctor that wants to help not like your making fun. i dont believe any of the arguments, yours or the one supports coconut oil but it sounds like you take it personal that the everyday people believe coconut oil helps.

  30. Of course it won't be shouted from rooftops. Doctors and Big Pharma want to keep it hush hush so they can give you expensive worthless treatments till you die. If everyone knew that this really worked, there would be no money in it for them. That is why they keep telling everyone to eat low-fat high-carb diets. It keeps you fat, sick and just downright unhealthy and it's good for their business. The truth is out there if you look.

  31. In a word NO.
But keep believing if you wish.
Have had my mother who has Dementia on the oil for 6 months with zero positive results.
I wish it did (you have no idea how much) but it doesn't.

  32. Keep telling the truth! I'm shocked about so many "believers". Never heard about the cure – only today a friend told me. Now I can give her your information. Thanks from Germany.

  33. No, it would not be shouted from every mountain top just like other natural substances that work aren't shouted from mountain tops. There is no profit to be had from natural cures, therefore the powers that be (pharma companies) will not advocate such remedies and even dismiss or disparage them..

  34. So the coconut oil DID help, even in the long run, as the graph shows.  That it was a mild improvement is not the issue.  The flippant tone of this video makes me think HE's working to sell something.

  35. It's too bad the narrator's speech affectations, repetitively sarcastic statements and stilted cadence makes this potentially valuable information not only difficult to listen to but also makes him seem like an insufferably smug ass-wipe.

  36. The reason they don't shout it from the rooftops is because alzeimers and dementia are a business, a very profitable business. Just like cancer is a business, cancer can be cured but hey, it's a $400 billion a year industry, profit before lives. Also, i believe coconut oil cannot be patented, so no one can own it.

  37. It's not always about PROFIT. Anyone could say that about anyone, a regular doctor or maybe a witch doctor. The truth is…is that food feeds us. It's what our bodies and brains cry out for and what we consume does affect us. When our brains can no longer accept glucose, the ketones from coconut oil are a good try. A true doctor wouldn't waste their time & energy focusing on the negatives out there with an agenda for making skeptical videos. A true doctor or a person passionate about healing would focus on the good; keep an open mind, consider all data–and people's testimonies, and acknowledge that there may be some benefits in coconut oil and it's a safe option to try. If it won't hurt someone to take it and it's worth it to see if it helps, you might as well! If it doesn't work for someone then it doesn't mean that the product or the producer is evil. Sometimes the true evil is not saying anything. Keeping people in the dark about the power of nutrition and telling them to take Alzheimer's-causing-statin-drugs instead….and getting paid for it. LOL

  38. I used to consume coconut oil, thinking it was healthy. I'm glad that when I learned about the benefits of a whole foods plant based diet, and amongst other reading, that it's really just a hoax. Coconut oil is great for using on the skin though.

  39. Sometimes there is a need to shrink those special parts of Mongolian gerbils.  You just never know… it is thus best to keep a supply of coconut oil handy.

  40. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0197458010004392
This study shows that a low carbohydrate (ketogenic) diet significantly improves cognitive performance in mildly impaired individuals in a substantial and more importantly – measurable way.   Its really a pretty ugly thing when a doctor has to go off his own agenda and out of his way to be dismissive in a smug, sloppy, and dishonest manner about an aspect of nutrition that – though requiring further study – still has a lot of potential promise, especially when used in unison with low carbohydrate diets.

  41. The medical industry, along with Big Pharma is a powerful and well funded entity with its profit mongering agents euphemistically known as MD's, is bent on destroying all natural remedies that would otherwise affect its bottom line.  Michael Gregor (doctor, you say?) is a living example of a canniving douchebag!

  42. Love the condescending voice – It's a dead giveaway of a deception – "These fools and their coconut oil" The ppl getting results trump your thirstin howl III impression.

  43. this was fine for what was claimed .. but IMHO he's really dodging the bullet by only talking about MCTs in relation to Alzheimers and 1 study, while only talking about virgin coconut oil in relation to CVD (and numerous studies). I mean to say, the profit-mindful companies pushing MCTs are mostly interested in selling it as a substitute for coconut oil, not alzheimers medication.

  44. Dr Greiger says that you can make money selling twenty pound buckets of coconut oil Well, I was at a trade fair last week and picked up several kilos of the stuff for nothing!!

  45. why not give them whole coconuts instead
this study is so strangely specific
its like saying "broccoli juice extract's effect on parkinson patients"
how about feed them…simple broccoli and check the results then?

  46. this is an older video. There are doctor studies proving organic virgin coconut oil,IN FACT,helps people w/ dimentia/alzheimers….ya butthole

  47. The alzheimers association probably stands to lose money if a simple, natural cure is found, just like the cancer and diabetes industries. I am 66 and was diagnosed with diabetes in January, my glucose was 410. My dr prescribed metformin. I researched natural ways to cure diabetes, cleaned up my diet, very low carb, lost 55 pounds with exercise, used herbs and other natural supplements and as of today, I am off metformin for 15 days and my body is dealing properly with my glucose levels! We are told by the "establishment" that diabetes cannot be cured; not true from my experience!
Whenever there are large amounts of money to be made, I investigate and learn for myself, rather than trusting the experts!!!

  48. the guy in the video sound like pharmaceutical lobbyist clown,
your video made me more sure that coconut oil will probably work, thank you

  49. So he has one video in which there are negative results for a plant food treatment, and suddenly the trolls come out of the woodworks.
    ???

  50. now that's what I like to hear jus my kind of guy, let's really push some boundaries on this one yeah! let's try and shrink some Mongolian gerbal testicles before this trials over people!
Haahaa wot the actual fuq heehee

  51. I love your videos, but this was just dumb. K. Tell this to all the people who are using coconut oil to actually stop the disease and get their lives back. Combine this with Cannabis Oil, consistently, and the disease makes a drastic reversal. You would lose your license for saying something like this, and Big Pharma would lose money if the truth were ever revealed (it is getting out there anyways). There are just some things you can't trust doctors on, and this subject is one of them (same for cancer treatment…Cannabis kills cancer as well, but you'll never hear a doctor say this). It has been proven that the Alzheimer's drugs out there do absolutely nothing but temporarily slow the disease, but in the long run do not stop or treat it. They also cause additional damage and side effects. My grandfather has Alzheimer's, and is on Namenda, and it does absolutely nothing for him. But when I give him coconut oil his cognitive function and interaction improves. So you can take your misinformation somewhere else. Nobody wants to hear it.

  52. What should I put on toast? Iike to use avacado and nut or peanut butter but I like toast in the more traditional sense too! I've replaced butter with coconut oil, also my go-to for waffles, etc. Not that I eat this stuff all the time, so it it ok to have an Ezekiel raisin muffin once or twice a week with…. ( fill in the bank?)….? Thanks Doc! 👍😊

  53. Dear Dr., my mom is taking coconut oil to improve her cognitive functions. It seems to work but I’m a little bit worried about the saturated fat’s possible negative impact on cholesterol. There are quite many new researches on this and some are in this video’s description https://youtu.be/eD_O8LqvuOw. Do you have any updated views on coconut oil?

  54. Maybe it won't always work, but it's working for my dad. After only 6 days of coconut oil, he went back to brushing his teeth alone, something he hadn't been able to do for 6 months, he also participated in conversations, he managed to walk and move better, even though his posture is not yet completely correct, it's much better. And can talk properly, while in the last week he had started to talk with nonsens sentences, and he started smiling again, whilie in the last 6 months he was alwasy depressed

  55. Your whole tone stinks, you work for big pharma I guess. Wouldn't be good for you guys if it worked? I like the way you talk about profit…yes there must be $trillions to be made of of coconuts!!

  56. I tell you i dont believe scientists hey experiment on animals i ask you. Also they like disqualifying anything but themselves and they twist theories into facts when they arent, so these stories were evidence is there are as valid as anything else, only it will be ten or more years before scientist acknowledge it and pretend they discovered it.

  57. this is how it is : watch a YouTube clip and then pick a way to go. I chose a whole food plant based diet with no oils apart from nuts, seeds, avocados and no refined sugar.

I commenti sono chiusi.
