  1. HI , it is about time u understand there is no bad and good cholesterol,, and it has nothing to do with heart health,,,, you are a great Doc. but still stuck on old info,,,cholesterol is the first aid of the body ,, the risk is too less,,,,

  2. I would love to see a video or get an answer to a question thats been bugging me for a while… How do you supplement a baby/child for B12 and vit D on a plant based diet? I am guessing breast milk contains sufficient quantities (as long as the mother is healthy too of course) but what about when you start feeding them normal foods? How much do they need and how do you give it to them? Any answers would be helpful. Love your videos Dr Greger, YOU ARE KING!!!

  3. Next time maybe you could show us your set up.  I have been curious how you made it work.  I would like to do this and I'm sure I'm not alone.   Not everyone has thought of walking while computing and I think you doing this will inspire more people to do likewise.   Yes you move quite a bit but I think now that your conscious of it you might not move as much next time.  If not, I did't find it all that distracting.  Looking forward to another one.  Cheers!

  4. The treadmill is a great reminder to ALL of us watching that we NEED to also keep moving in addition to eating well! Thanks for all you do to help us Doc!

  5. All those things you do for society that could be profitable to yourself you actually choose to give it all to charity. What a saint of a doctor you are! Total paragon of virtue, god bless 🙂

Informative as usual, and I am happy we will be able to see a fixated head next time!

  6. Félicitation de France pour ce 1er Q&A !!!
You were so enthusisiastic as usual, and your bobbing was so fun, I thought it was and autistic mouvement because you were overstressed !!! I worried for you !
Long life to you Mister Greger 🙂

  7. What about juicing …. in terms of eating the green leafy vegetables, or other veggies … would you recommend juicing – and to what extent with what provisos?

  8. You make a very strong statement here about healthy people not benefiting from drinking alcohol, while those who are less healthy could benefit some… Please see the work of Dean Ornish. He lists drinking alcohol as one behavior that grows brain cells. These views contradict each other. The two doctors have a very similar orientation toward diet though. How can we get a better understanding on this point?

  9. I like your videos better- actually I love your videos, but my attention span is much shorter than 30 minutes. Bravo for doing this video in any case. I'll try to get through it in 5 minute chunks.

  10. 1. I didn't know about this hangout in advance. Strange. I thought I was subscribed to notifications from nutritionfacts.org but apparently not. Fixed.
    2. I noticed you walked during your talk. Cool! This is certainly one thing I want to explore – standing desks for my daily job. I heard about recommendations to add a treadmill to it as well. In case you combine sitting, I can share my recommendation for tilting kneeling chair. I use a cheap copy (I think…) of a "Varier Balans" and Its very comfortable for me.
    3. I wonder what kind of shoes are you wearing – I wouldn't be surprised if you wearing some minimalistic / barefoot shoes (or walk entirely barefoot when possible). Probably healthier than standard shoes. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll be happy to give you an intro to the subject. You'll appreciate it, I'm sure (without even knowing you).

Thanks again for all the work!

  11. I VERY much enjoy your videos, and I enjoy that you treasure health more than profit. I would love to see a video discussing the sugar issues with Harley (durianrider). He is a sugar sugar sugar man and extremely healthy, so why is that? He often dumps sugar in smoothies. While you walk 17 miles, he runs 17 miles. He is energetic, lean, extremely fit and has perfect blood testing results. Why?

  13. anything green (besides fruitloops!) I see why this channel is categorized as entertainment instead of educational. Love your videos Dr. Greger! Looking forward to listening your lecture live in Portland, OR April 2014

  14. Dr. Greger, you need to know…you are just awesome!

You microwave your food? Do you think that microwaving depletes nutrients?

  15. Dr. Michael, thanks, thanks. I've been vegan for 40 years, think of myself as always learning, and learned much from this and some others. Please keep up the good work. I live in No. Va, by the way.

  16. SOOOO WHY ISNT THERE ANYTHING FROM YOU POSTED SPECIFIcALLY about gmo food and the quality of drinking water from the tap filled with various stuff like heavy metals and fluoride?? do u have any research re these issues??

  17. Lol. yolo swag. Your a crazy. Live your life, eat chef boy r d. Chicken noodle soup. This guy is crazy. Lives his life based on science

  19. Why are you bouncing side to side in this video ? Are you High on Stevia ? I just started growing it. Let me know if it will make me bounce around like that.

  20. Do you believe the black death was Yersinia Pestis or could it have been a (bird) flu?

Some of the symptoms in your birdflubook, such as air bubbles beneath the skin due to lung damage, seem like those of the black death, and there are various weakness with the bacterial theory (spread in areas where there are no rats, too quickly, and stopped by quarantine) as argued by Scott and Duncan in 2001.

  21. Tip:  This video contains excellent information but DO NOT try to watch it.  Just let it play so you can hear it and browse around in another window to something easier to watch.  The bobbing back and forth in this video WILL either make you ill or drive you nuts.  Don't worry, he promised not to tape from the treadmill again.

  22. thank you, dr. greger.  just watched my first dr. greger video and I am an instant convert.  thank you much for all the great information and for your great sense of humor.

  23. No mention is made for how much chocolate is bad, or what kind, what percentage of fat.  Two little 1/2 inch squares of milk or dark chocolate daily isn't that bad, especially if one isn't eating egg yolks, meat, and keeps dairy to milk in tea and a tablespoon or two of yoghurt.  Its the amount consumed that is important.

  24. Prestigious Doctor Michael I love you and I love the way you talk and the sarcasm as well as the informative content

  25. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us 🙂 Great idea to do live QnA 🙂 I like the treadmill roll modelling – if you can do it so can we 🙂 My questions, had I known about this live chat, would be:
    1.  do raw onions clean out the lungs?
    2.  are things from the onion family, like garlic, toxic for us, or good to eat daily?
    3.  Are the onion family members good food for our probiotics?
    4.  Is taking probiotics something that can truly grow our probiotics?

  26. Dr Greger fans, on December 8th 2015 there s going to be a book published about all the information Dr Greger has collected throughout the years and also about his practical day to day tips on how to get in all those phytonutrients!

  27. I am a a true believer in a plant based vegan diet. I am a critical care nurse and many of my coworkers laugh at my diet. I must say I am 47 with the body of a 27 yr old…I am on a journey to educate as many people on the benifits of a vegan diet. I often send youtube videos with Dr. Michael Greger as my a arcinaol. Keep up the amazing work, you are changing the world!

  28. Dr. Gregor, YOU ARE WONDERFUL!!! Thank you for all of your work in getting this

    Blessings…….

  29. I am wondering about my own health. I am a member of PH360, and when I lost weight after using all Vegetarian for a few months. I was very thin and looked too thin.. I weighed 129#. Then my Doctor told me I had very low magnesium levels in my blood. She also told me I have low Sodium, which I had before going, on the all Vegetarian diet.
My MD put me on Magnesium oxide, 400 mg, three times daily. I also was told to take salt tablets daily. I had High Blood Pressure before , and low sodium, and wonder if the HBP was caused by my obeying the doctor and not eating salt, or if the salt was causing the HBP? Do you have any thoughts about this subject. Both are needed in our diets so I am confused about these issues. magnesium and Sodium are needed but I am still taking 500 mg of Magnesium three times daily and using salt on everything… Not the typical advice of doctors for HBP??? Thank You very much, Elizabeth in Upstate NY.
