  1. Someone asked about allergic rhinitis. I had that. I started adding half an onion to my green smoothy. It sorted my problem. Onion has antihistamine effect. Haven't had allergic rhinitis since long. Try for a week and see if it works. This is totally anecdotal but this seems to have sorted my lifelong problem.

  2. Someone asked about a cheese-sauce recipe. I don’t know how to post the picture of my recipe, but you can find a “No Cheese Cheese-Sauce” if you search for Karen’s Healing Kitchen. It’s great!

  3. 1 correction here, Rambutans are not bland if you get them fresh from where they grow like Thailand. They have a strong delicious taste, fresh, but when they are shipped across the world the flavor disappears quickly.

  4. I'm not a trained medical professional but goodness gracious, people sure ask some wacky (like raising my eyebrows with an are you kidding me look) questions.

  5. The person who questioned about being underweight …. If you TRULY eat well (be completely honest) maybe Google the symptoms of hyperthyroidism … If any are familiar, get checked out.

  6. You can definitely reverse myopia I've been doing this for over a year and my eyesight has significantly been improving. I recommend a site called endmyopia.org I have even made my own YouTube videos explaining my progress and how it all works.

  8. I just finished reading your book on How Not to Die. Lots of interesting information. Going to see about buying an ebook copy for my personal reference along with your Carbophobia book which also seems to have much interesting information. Thank you for all that you do.

  9. Nutritional Yeast is a life saver for me. I put it on veggies, potatoes, corn and whatever. Thank god I do not have to give it up. It helps me ditch salt.

  10. In your book how not to die in this section were you talking about the role of chlorophyll regenerating CoQ10 you said cholesterol rich diet instead of chlorophyll rich diet, in the audiobook.

  11. Regarding constipation .. try 16 ounces of fresh organic celery juice in AM on empty stomach.. wowser.. might take a couple of days but should help. Sending tons of hugs!

  12. Impossible Burger is loaded with cholesterol and sodium. So I would avoid them. If you’re a “meat eater”, and trying to move into a WF, than fine. But I would never eat it. I prefer to make bean burger from Greger’s cook book.

  13. For dry eyes omega 3 supplements make a big difference.
I still take fish oil capsules for that. When they run out I'll buy vegan omega 3 supplements.
Maybe eating a lot of flaxseeds would work too, idk.

  14. He's wrong about grains being essential for adequate fiber. Input 2000 calories of assorted fruits and veggies into cronometer and see how much fiber is included- several times the RDA I am sure

  15. I like to believe im saving alot of peoples grandmas because of dr greger and what ive learned from him, working in a healthstore giving alot of advice to old people about health, supplementd and diet.

  16. Do people really believe impossible/beyond burgers and other fake meats are healthier than real beef? I mean come on you have to be delusional or deeply brainwashed to think these things are anything less than poison. Just look at the ingredients list. Wake up people don't be so stuck in a dogma.

  17. Purple sweet potatoes…yummy and super nutritious😋😊, but difficult to find and expensive ☹️

  18. Regarding a doctor recommending a colonoscopy just because of low iron, hell yeah, that’s what my doctor did several years ago! I went in because of fatigue, my iron tested just very slightly low, and she recommended a colonoscopy. This was back when I was a passive, uninformed patient, so I had the colonoscopy. (no bleeding in there). If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined the colonoscopy and asked for a fecal blood test first. She didn’t consider that my slightly low iron level could be due to heavy periods. She’s not my doctor anymore.

  19. Hi Dr. Greger,
I've been Vegan for 8 month. My a1c was 8.2 and now 6.7 . Cholesterol down to 145.
What's other recommended blood test should I do?

  20. There was a study done on male pattern baldness that proved that those who do high intensity exercise 20mins a day, have almost zero male pattern baldness, while those who do only light aerobic exercise have increased rates of male pattern baldness. Athletes do look younger because they put their dna into a constant state of repair.

  21. Great Q&A, thanks!! Dr Greger, about Matthew Walker PhD, he is a remarkable neurophysiologist and psychiatrist and professor at U. California, Berekley and there is some great content about his research, starting with his recent TED talk:

  22. I went plant based over a year ago and my triglycerides also went up, I researched and found that if you sit a lot during the day, you need to get up every hour for at least 5 minutes and that may be the reason.

  23. Hello Dr. Greger. I am very interested to hear your health opinion on raw organic unpasteurized honey. I use it to feed my kombucha and on occasions I have it on my homemade sourdough bread.

Really appreciate all the info you put out there. Animal products free for 1 month. Your videos inspired my self and my wife.

  24. In August 2019, the American College of Cardiology (ACC) advised that “prescription omega-3 fatty acids (EPA+DHA or EPA-only) at a dose of 4 g/d (>3 g/d total EPA+DHA) are an effective and safe option for reducing triglycerides….” (https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIR.0000000000000709). If elevated triglyceride levels (>200 mg/dL) cannot be reduced by diet, the use of supplemental omega-3 fatty acids to reduce atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk is supported by a 25% reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events in the REDUCE-IT study (http://www.onlinejacc.org/content/74/8/1159). This is an important update correcting Dr. Greger’s statement 2 years ago that evidence was insufficient that omega-3 fatty acid supplements reduce cardiovascular disease (though still insufficient for people without elevated triglycerides). A news release associated with this advisory warned that “people should not try to treat the condition themselves with non-prescription fish oil supplements, since they are not reviewed or approved by the Food and Drug Administration” (https://newsroom.heart.org/news/prescription-omega-3-fatty-acid-medications-effectively-lower-high-triglycerides?preview=57cc). Unfortunately, prescription-version of omega-3 fatty acid supplements are made only from fish oil, not algae oil. On which non-prescription algae oil supplements may we confidently rely to contain the ingredients they claim to have, and to be free from impurities or other problems that may be due to their lack of FDA regulation?

  25. Please tell the person asking about yeast infections/BV:
If you use tampons, switch to a menstrual cup. Most tampons contain stuff like bleach and pesticides, and wearing tampons that are too absorbent for your current flow messes up your vaginal microbiome. The TL;DR of it is that a lot of the good bacteria that your body relies on to maintain balance and keep you healthy ends up dying, creating an environment where bad yeasts thrive and overgrow. The YouTube channel preciousstarspads is a great resource for learning about switching to a cup.

Try drinking 1/4c Lifeway Kefir every day for 3-6 months. If they go with a different brand, make sure it has at least 8 bacterial cultures in it (most other commercial “kefir” brands are just watery yogurt with 1-3 strains of bacteria). I had a UTI every few months for about 6 years, and constantly being on antibiotics really messed up my microbiome. Eventually I got a life-threatening infection. After doing a lot of research, I found some of the studies on kefir and decided to try it. I started noticing a difference after a few days, and if I skipped a day of drinking it I would start feeling UTI symptoms; it took about 6 months of 1/4-1/2c a day to fully cure my UTI issues, and I noticed other health benefits as well (overall health, drastically reduced unhealthy food cravings, etc). I haven’t had a UTI, yeast (or other) infection, or needed any antibiotics in about 8 years now. I started feeling slightly symptomatic about 6 months ago and kicked it with a few days of kefir drinking. It’s literally the only animal product I will still buy; it totally transformed my health and really kickstarted my interest in food as medicine. Please pass it on:)

  26. This is in response to the question regarding re-occurring vaginitis. Your mate maybe be reinfecting you. It would be wise to have your mate tested.
