By the way, we of course added this recipe to the site so you could whip up a healthy green-light dessert today. See it at https://nutritionfacts.org/recipe/strawberry-banana-nice-cream.

100 Risposte a “Dr. Greger in the Kitchen: My New Favorite Dessert”

  1. Another healthy dessert is to replace the matcha with cocoa powder. Unsweetened Cocoa is super healthy and it will give the "dessert" a nice chocolatey flavour

  2. I make really good ice cream with frozen bananas, cinnamon, roasted peanuts, salt, vanilla extract. I'll try adding the green tea powder to it next time

  3. Hey doc! I would like you to talk about the most healthy pans on the market right now, or about Teflon and different non stick coatings

    Thank you so much

  4. I love the kitchen scene. I get bored sometimes just listening to your commentaries showing mostly SCRIPT. Your kitchen is delightful and calm. Please do more.

  5. Dr. Gregor, I would like to know whether your 'How Not To Die' cookbook including diets for post traumatic impacted wisdom teeth removal surgery? I would like to know more about recipes that involving drinking all liquid food without having to open up my teeth a single millimeter AND just by open up my lips and slowly sip my liquid food through my mug and slits of my teeth. Thank you very much. P.S. I'm feeling like dying after my impacted horizontally laid wisdom teeth extraction surgery and it's day 5 now I'm still bleeding😱

  6. Why do people who don't believe De Greger or what he teaches even bother to watch his videos? If I don't like what someone says I don't give them any of my time . I think he is one of the smartest doctors around.

  7. Dr Gregor
Do you have a nutrition list for the recipes in your book? I need the grams of carbs per gram weight of one serving as I have to use insulin to live. 😬. I try to stay in the normal range while eating healthy.

  8. Made this. It was AWESOME! Have the How Not to Die cookbook. It's packed full of delicious recipes. The How Not to Die book is phenomenal as well. Many thanks for the life changing info. I've been a nurse for 22 years and most of the info was new to me. I'm incorporating it into my nursing practice whenever I can.

  9. love what u do! hum …but if china green tea can b toxic what about japan green tea being radioactive…small country…big incident… maybe buy local?? or grow some in your backward or window side…how about mint instead…does it has good health benefits also?

  10. Dr Greger, You Have to be the most entertaining & knowledgeable doctor I've ever had the occasion to listen to! And your humorous. but informative style is most refreshing!

  11. I think if he prove charity percent of book sales income, people will love him more.
    Or he already shown that?

  12. ok, I'm back. Just threw some bananas in the freezer. Matcha is always in the fridge. Thanks for the tip. We all can see that Dr. Greger has a sweet tooth, maybe even a whole mouth full of sweet teeth. (:

  13. Really, who wears a white coat and a stethoscope in the kitchen …at home?
Seriously, that's stuff that you used on and wore around sick people with infectious diseases….if you see patients. Yuck.

  14. Dr Greger is using an old Sunbeam Oskar mini food processor in this video. It was a huge hit upon its debut in 1985, starting a surge of mini processors from all the major appliance manufacturers. It was made in France for Sunbeam, possibly by the inventor of the food processor, Robot Coupe, who manufactured the world's first food processors for Cuisinart back in the '70s (and still makes high-end $1,000+ home processors).

Many people (myself, included) still use their original '80s Oskar units, which were very well made. Their design is very convenient for small batches( as demonstrated in the present matcha nice cream video), and is very easy to clean. The 500 watt motor was extremely powerful for such a small unit.

Aside from seeking out a used vintage Oskar today, it appears it's been reintroduced and given a face-lift as the current Oster brand Oskar, going for about $50.

  15. GREAT – but talking about matcha: instead of drinkin matcha, why don't we just blend in the green tee leaves (after they
have soked overnight – taken from bags or open) – as it was recommended doing
with hibiscus … instead of using matcha powder wich is so much more expensive?

  18. A lot of sugar there Dr. Greger. Although delicious, sugar spikes insulin and causes inflammation. Not to mention how much carbs inflame the liver. Cholesterol due to inflammation maybe? 😅

  19. Gonna try it this week, but I'll probably add some frozen mango and passionfruit, some vegan protein powder and maybe a dash of Amla powder while I'm at it. Could add all kinds of things- peanut butter or powdered PB, hemp hearts, ground chia/flax, flaked quinoa, shaved dark chocolate or cacao nibs, etc. I miss ice cream and am not a real fan of sorbet- and the vegan ice creams, while delicious, are usually all loaded with coconut fat. My go-to desert is actually just chunks of frozen fruit like pineapple, dragonfruit, or mango or even just frozen sliced strawberries- satisfies both sweet and crunchy cravings. But this looks interesting to play around with.

  20. You are great, like the "chef" of the Muppet Show. I read all your books, I eat like you told in your book "how not to diet" and I think you are right with everything. Keep going in. I realy trust in you. And this kind of icecream is so yummi. I eat it every week. Stay healthy. Greetings from Germany.
