Wasn’t that self-exam thing wild? It’s counter-intuitive results like that which should be a good cautionary tale that we need to ideally put everything to the test.

31 Risposte a “Flashback Friday: Should Women Get Mammograms Starting at Age 40?”

  1. In Canada, they ask women to do their mammogram only in their 50ies, and then, every 2 years. USA and Canada are different for this, I think it may be because the care are free in Canada and the gouvernement pay for it.

  2. Yes, If Breast Cancer runs in your family. And you have a tendency of getting Cysts. Yes. It runs on my Moms side, my Grandma and one Aunt had it. I been getting tested since 35-40 Years Old.

  3. Medicine (aka "healthcare") is a business. It starts in medical school where future doctors get NO training on prevention of disease with proper diet, and are encouraged to order as many tests as possible. I didn't want to believe this until I watched my son go through medical school. It is disgusting.

  4. Isn't an EMI (Estrogen Metabolite Index ) Test a much safer and simpler way to screen for breast cancer. After all it is simple easy urine sample test.

  5. These days healthcare is strictly a business. Same as everything else in this society. There is no place for reasoning where the marketing rules.

  6. Mammograms are useless, I get an ultrasound every 3-5 yrs, no damages to the tissues, no pain, and far more precise. Mammograms only detect mass when it's large enough for the person to detect themself, then they send them to get an ultrasound!!! Why even go for a mammogram in the first place? Skip it and go with an ultrasound every 3-5 yrs instead. Thermography was my first choice but hard to find where I live.

  7. Stay away from medical doctors unless you need them! Should you have to go remember to be in charge of your body, or the doctor will turn you into their chattel.

  8. I just had a squiz at the Australian Cancer Council website and they send out an invitational letter for a free mammogram every 2 years to all Aussie women aged 50 to 74. Any woman aged 40 to 50, and 74 and over can also get a free mammogram every 2 years but won't receive an invitational letter. Seems they agree with the WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer who believe the benefits of mammograms outweigh the potential harms. JFYI 👍💚🌱

  9. Yes!!!! I was detected early!!!! Still gets complicated but it’s best to be detected early! This may have saved my life! In my opinion it’s not with the risk to not get our mammo done. Please don’t skip it! The water is contaminated, the environment is as well, people still use poison for their grass! No matter how clean our diet is I believe we can all get this.
