Most apples are waxed, how do we get past that as washing them is futile.
My routine is an apple for my afternoon slump snack. Fills me up, boosts energy levels and with a handful of trail mix keeps the cravings away from having that power bar / desert / chips…. The sad thing is that these days apples cost so much more than the easy to find convenience processed foods. We obviously need apple subsidies. Increased apple consumption might help with reducing many of our common diseases.
But aren't the peels impregnated with pesticides? We should boiled them?

What is it about apple peels that could be helpful for joint pain that isn’t found in other fruits like berries?
Lately I've been wondering if eating the core and the seeds has any benefits. Pretty sure I used to eat them all in my teens in the 70s.
Apples in the UK havent been good for about 30 years. They have got spongy- Im not sure what they are doing to them exactly but Im fairly sure something has changed- they used to be crisper.

3 apples/day for over 40 years. The best applesauce is made with the peels. Not white like western culture, but richly endowed with all the vitamin C and other anti-oxidants 'lurking' beneath the peel. Core, cut the blems, soften at low temp in a pot, then partially puree in a blender and bottle or freeze. C'est tout!

What about the chemicals used to grow apples? I was told that I should wash them with soapy water for one minute… which really turned me off apples. especially the peel.
