  1. very strange … YT video would not share 🙁 I tried to share it but when it went to FB there was no video there 🙁 I tried again just to make sure it was not a fluke and it still would not share. I will try to cut and paste the link to see if that works 🙁 FYI ??

  2. Fast essentially means strong. Going fast requires strength, hence the use of the word. Holding fast is a common expression. So when one is fasting, they are literally becoming stronger.

  3. Só this means that if you stop poisoning yourself with food (fast) you get better? But once you return to the poisoning you get worse again? Who would have thought

  4. It's worth a shot, but I wouldn't get hopes up too high on this "curing" Rheumatoid Arthritis. Dr. John McDougall another of the Plant doctors is a strong promoter of plant based diet for curing RA, and has testimonial online from peopled cured. But he did an actual study and the results were lackluster:

    There was symptom reduction, but it's not a cure for most people. Notably duration of morning stiffness did NOT decrease, neither did erythrocyte sedimentation rate. So disease appears to be still progressing unabated while you get some symptom reduction.

    My personal anecdote: My mother has had RA for over 20 years, and I tried in vain to get her to try a plant based diet. Then early this year, I started developing the symptoms myself, and I was already eating a largely plant based diet, but small amounts of meat and fish.

    When symptoms got bad enough, I fasted, and did a plant based elimination diet.

    At no point did my symptoms disappear. But they did decrease, and I got a better sense of what seems to be a factor.

    For me it seems to be protein. Keep the body slightly deprived of protein and there is less inflammation. But I am not finding this practical long term, as I lose weight and strength like this. It's also clear that the disease is still progressing. Major flare ups are reduced, but over time, my joints are becoming progressively more tender.

  5. Sorry but saying that FASTING is what fixes the underlying issue is ALSO not correct. "Healthy weight" is "the cure", fasting is just the temporary process to getting to that state. "Fasting" isn't the cure just as statins are not a cure.

  6. Yep I've had rheumatoid arthritis since i was 9 years old and fasting/vegan/gluten free diet helped me get off the medication

  7. As someone who has Ankylosing spondylitis, (feels like I have HAD it, but not that much anymore) I can say that fasting has worked incredibly well for me as well to get on the right path and live a normal life again on a Whole Foods plant based diet! 😄

  8. Hola, después de leer su artículo sobre el ayuno, dieta vegetariana, en la artritis reumatoide tengo una duda.

    En mi caso, con artritis reumatoide y con muy bajo peso, 39 kg- 1,59 de altura, cómo podría llevar a cabo estas indicaciones, sin adelgazar sin adelgazar.

    La dieta que hago es sin gluten, ni maiz, ni lácteos, ni comida preparada, ni conservas, ni dulces… Pero como cinco veces al día: desayuno, almuerzo, comida, merienda, cena.

  9. I have had extreme RA for 20 years. Not until I got rid of bad bread, eggs, dairy, processed foods, and now meat did I really recover and dramatically improve. Thanks for a great video as always.

  10. Please explain exactly how to fast. Is it 10 hours a day of not eating or drinking anything except water ? Is it 15 hours of no drinking and eating except water ? Please can someone explain what kind of 7-10 days of fasting is needed.

  11. Dr Greger, thank you for this video. My grandma had rheumatoid arthritis and it's a shame we didn't know what enormous effect diet could have on her life quality. Would be nice if you allow to add subtitles to the video. I have friends with this diagnosis but they don't know english so well. I want to translate it to Russian so that this info is available to as many people as possible, and they have chance against this terrible disease. Thank you for your work.

  12. On August 24, 2019, my husband proposed and agreed to marry me, then we both planned the wedding. Our wedding was to be held on September 27. We had a little misunderstanding and he left me for another girl. I almost committed suicide. which led to our breakup. I was not myself again, I felt so empty inside myself, my love and my financial situation got worse, until a close friend told me about a sorcerer who helped her in the same problem, his name is Doctor Sandy.   13. Can you make a video on diet specifically for Rheumatoid arthritis? In plants based diet – what is good to it eat vs what is not for RA?
    Also, can you share best way to reduce antinuclear antibodies to normal levels?

  14. This is absuletly true. When I fast, my pains go away after just one or two days. Surprisingly, my energy boosts beginning from the second day. Even, it is like eupheria. Of course, there are bio-chemical reactions related to RA.

  16. Meat, dairy, and eggs were easy for me to kick, but I have a weakness for sugar and process foods which are also big RA kickers.

  17. I took notice a few years ago that after two decades of swearing for sure that foods don't affect RA, that MD researchers finally admitted that they did. Disappointing indeed.

  18. I noticed that the fasting period in the studies was 7 to 24 days. That would definitely require medical supervision.

  19. What kind of fasting? For a week and never again? Or everyday? Like eat 8 hours and fasting 16? Or fasting 2 days and eat for 5? Or does it not matter? 🙂

Ny experience is that it can be an easier and still very healing approach to go for a 10 Day starch based SOS free whole food plant based diet only eating millet, Rice, buckwheat, potatoes, vegetables, seeds and a few walnuts with a small amount of fresh fruit – ( the Rice diet, the McDougall starch based solution in a very basic form) 🎶🍀💚🐸🎵
