Curcuma Curcumina e Osteoartrite (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/turmeric- curcumina-e-osteoartrite/) e curcuma Curcumina e artrite reumatoide (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/turmeric -curcumina-e-artrite-reumatoide/).

  1. thanks for posting this –I always wondered what Haggis was and what it looked like. Not pretty but amazing that people would enjoy it. Thank You for all of your well made informative videos.

  2. AWESOME information! I will gladly chow down on a bag of fresh cherries the next time I'm feeling achy. You've got me thinking. Right now, sweet cherries are available in the grocery stores. It's a good time to stock up and put them in the freezer. I've found frozen cherries are not always available in the winter months.

  3. Good to know, I was getting a bit worried then until you said about the cyanidins as I just bought some grape seed extract for when I go running…..
Cherry season begins end June / beginning of July this year in the UK.

  4. but but… I have a slight allergy to cherries and other related fruits like apples, pears, plums, peaches, apricots…. it's only slight so at most it makes me itchy and a tiny bit of swelling. I don't think this is for me LOL

  5. Dear honored doctor,
How many fresh sweet bing cherries would it take to equal 1 dose of ibuprofen? Let's say, 200mg of ibuprofen to Xg of bing cherries?
If a bing cherry is 8g, how many cherries would = 200mg of ibuprofen?
Ahh… please tell me if this calculation is correct dear, kind, good doctor:
100g of bing cherries = 86.6mg of anthocyanin (fresh flesh+skin)
    1g of bing = .866mg anthocyanin
    0.866mg*X = 200mg (X = grams of bing)
    200/0.866 = X
    230.947 = X
~231 grams of bing cherries = 200mg of anthocyanin
    Since,
    1 bing = 8g,  8g*X = 231g => => ~29 cherries = 200mg of anthocyanin
    Therefore,
Eating 29 fresh bing cherries should produce an equivalent pain relief as a normal does of ibuprofen pill BUT without letting our body digest its own stomach and intestines.
    What do you think?

    P.S.
8g of 1 bing might include mass of pit, which in normal cases will not be consumed and therefore changes the # of bing to equal 200mg anthocyanin.
If so, a new calculation would be necessary, but I don't think the pit is more than 15% of the cherry weight, so,
29 bing is accurate to a +15% rate of error (dependent on pit mass data)
29 might be good, but 34 will certainly give 200mg of anthocyanin to your blood cells.
Please let me know what you think about the calculation. Thank you for all that you do.

  6. I don't know if eating anything that inhibits Cox-1 regardless of anti-inflammatory benefits, is good. If advil's removal of Cox-1 can harm people, wouldn't cherry's removal of Cox-1 also be bad, just on a smaller scale?
If just choose to bear with the over abundance of Cox 2, would I just have to deal with pain? My pain tolerance is very strong.

  7. Yummy medicine!!!  (BTW the opening photo is disgusting!)  So glad there is a good reason to eat cherries…they are so delicious.

  8. I suffer from the occasional gout attack and take  2 x 200mg Ibuprofen for relief. Should I always take it with food to help protect my stomach? What type of food? Does it work by reducing the crystals in my joints or does it just relieve the pain? I will start buying frozen cherries if I can as the fresh ones are seasonal and very expensive. Thank you for the info.

  9. The good old days! When I was a kid, use to clime up the Cherry trees with friends and eat so much cherry I barely can clime down, belly was so full, my lips bluish red from the fruit.
    LOL!

  10. How many cherries would a person have to eat to have the anti inflammatory properties of an 800mg ibuprofen exactly? Thanks! Loved the video!

  11. I hope you don't mind me posting the link to this video in a fb group for a particular health problem. I would love to know how many cherries are equivalent to 800mg advil. Thanks!

  12. After a severe gout attack in my hand/knuckle, I was diagnosed with a high level of uric acid. Currently with a mild gout attack in my toe, I've been popping 3 cherry supplements a day. I can actually feel my body adjusting to the drop in uric acid (a prickly, tingly feeling) It's almost as if my body doesn't want to let it go.

  13. How much of the fresh cherries do we need to consume for it to have an appreciable effect? Do cherry extracts or supplements work? Would be nice to know.

  14. Fresh cherries are in season and on sale now so I splurged (I usually stick to frozen berries in smoothies). I just ate a heaping cupful and afterwards, I started musing to myself that they made me feel pretty darn good, like I took a painkiller! I’ve heard about the benefits of tart cherries but didn’t know sweet cherries are a natural painkiller. Interesting that this effect isn’t all in my head or just a result of my happiness in treating myself to expensive fruit. I have chronic pain in addition to lifelong liver disease so I do my best to keep the pain at a tolerable level without pills. Fresh cherries will still be just a treat for me but now I’ll keep them in mind for the occasions I need something to make me feel better.
