  1. Plant-based protein is 40% less bioavailable than animal-based protein. The RDA is to prevent death, not to promote health. Active peope need 1g/lb lean body mass/day. This man is a cancer on anything involving nutrition.

  2. "Doctor" Greger is talking out of his arse yet again. Never practised medicine but completed his degree. Guy looks like a case study for malnutrition

  3. Wouldn't getting 70% more protein than you need be damaging? I'm surprised were all still alive.

  4. There isn't "one protein". There are a number of amino acids that make up the group called "protein". We need a number of these amino acids (essential amino acids), and it's nearly impossible to achieve the right blend of these amino acids on a plant diet. Only animal based food have these proteins in the right proportions for human needs.

  5. He knows the importance of protien, especially for growing children, and yet he will intentionally mislead people. Why? For the animals? Or is the profits made from veganism influencing his information? 🤔 🤬

  6. Protein is the only macro that has any meaningful thermogenic affect. So take 1/3rd off the rip. Then, most the other 2/3rds remaining go to maintaining a healthy body structure. Think muscle, tendons, skin, bones, hair, nails, cartilage…. The remaining trace amounts of protein is used for energy after being converted via gluconeogenisis if applicable.

Of course, plant protein is extremely inferior to animal protein as far as bioavailabilty, absorbtion, purity, etc.

It's more likely one should get 1.2 grams of protein per every lean lb of one's body weight. So for me, 6'2", 208 lb, my daily protein intake isn't 40g… it's more like 240g.

  7. In his book, Physiology Economy in Nutrition, Russell Henry Chittenden, former President of the American Physiological Society (APS) and Professor of Physiological Chemistry at Yale, wrote in 1905, “Proteid (protein) decomposition products are a constant menace to the well-being of the body; any quantity of proteid or albuminous food beyond the real requirements of the body may prove distinctly injurious…Further, it requires no imagination to understand the constant strain upon the liver and kidneys, to say nothing of the possible influence upon the central and peripheral parts of the nervous system, by these nitrogenous waste products which the body ordinarily gets rid of as speedily as possible.

Professor Chittenden performed interesting research studies on student athletes at Yale varying the amount of protein in their diet.

  8. Every time I see that dude's face all I can think is, he got his share of wedgies, and swirlies, and his @$$ kicked in school. God, he's insufferable and a liar.

  9. " may " also means equal probability they may not.

"Plant based" means Animal Products are included.

42 grams of Animal based protien is adequate for a 42# human. This is about (7) eggs on a plant based Vegetarian diet. 😂😂

We have a Baby Hippo gaining 3-4 pounds per day since born this month. So on plant based newborn hippo diet you can gain weight, muscle, and bone. Snap.. Fritz is given animal sourced fat, protien, and sugar.

  10. This statement, coming from someone of his influence in the plant based community, is very dangerous actually. These people are already malnourished. You start telling them these kind of lies, they're going to starve themselves to an early grave even further.

  11. Dr. Greger is another on the paid liar dole.He works for Blue Horizon Ventures also along with the other con artist called Earthling Ed.

  12. On his web site, he says, "Adults require no more than 0.8 or 0.9 grams of protein per healthy kilogram of body weight per day." So by his own figures, 42g would be enough for a 49 kg person (or 109 lbs). Maybe he himself weighs 109 lbs 🤣

Edit: Thinking about this some more, the graph show average protein intakes for the people in the study, so it does make sense to compare an average against that. But what is the average weight of an average healthy person (male and female weights averaged together)? I did a quick calculation based on the average height of male and female Americans and their healthy weights from a table I found, and came up with 65kg (143lbs). I also found out the average French weight (because they are less fat than Americans) and came up with 70kg (154lbs). So Dr Greger's value of 49kg does seem very low for an average human being. Consequently 42g of protein seems very low too.

  13. Just because they are a “doctor” doesn’t mean JACK SQUAT. There are doctors saying men can get pregnant, doctors saying women can have a penis and balls, men can have a vagina etc. have y’all seen the new pregnant “man” emoji . 🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃🫃

A lot of quacks out here trying to sell us evil, confusion, and mostly products of big pharma $$$$$$$ big $$ “they” see us as cattle.

  14. Klaus Schwaub of the World Economic Forum loves Gregor promoting the slave diet. “Plants and bugs for ze lower class, ze best organic wagyu and bone marrow for ze rich, muahaha u will own nothing and be happy…eat ze crickets and don’t dare speak up”

  15. Then why do vegans suffer from higher rates of osteoporosis and slow wound healing? They aren’t getting the correct type of protein…

  16. Plant “proteins” aren’t complete, and they’re not bioavailable to humans, lions, crocodiles, orcas, or any other predator species.

  17. Even 50 is way low. That's also not taking into account any exercise. When I was running I remember getting 120 g or so. If you lift you need even more

  18. The ideal is 1 g per pound of lean body mass (our weight without fat) in order to maintain a good muscle mass. What "we need" according to Gregor is the lowest requirement to sustain life.

  19. You're a smart girl aka woman.
I'm glad you listen to your common sense and brain instead of the indoctrination.
Men like him have been lying and keeping secrets so long even they believe their own bull shit lies.
I personally call these people "future stealers".
A future stealer is anyone who's wants, desires, demands usurp on other person's.
Who high jacks a person innate organic future; What their future would be if left to their own devices.
This guy, all pedophiles and folk like him are that demanding, expect you to give up your wants, will and demands, desires, time and life, ideas For Their oppinions, wants, demands, desires, etc…. they wanna influence and high jack a person's natural innate way of Being with their crap and demands, desires and will and complete bogus oppinions.
Future stealers are liken to energy vampires but not the same.
The fact he will influence so many to eat less protein in a sub diet is future stealing completely…
They will get sicker slowly and loose energy and life force…
Regarding the kids… <<<You've pointed these things out many times before.

  20. Even with his BS numbers it would be 50% not 70% but obviously those numbers aren’t even true so the disparity is worse. Most Americans get about what they need or even less than what he should have each day 🤦🏼‍♀️ why he always lying…

Experientially, feel better eating more vs less protein. Specifically animal protein.

  21. Boiled beans/lentils have 3 times less protein than meat.
And these proteins are 2 times less bioavailable.
Overall plants have 6 times less protein.

  22. Fun fact: Before he renamed it to Nutritionfacts the name of his organization was "Vegan Research Institute Inc.", but I guess that was too obvious. You can see it in the tax forms from 2011.

P.S. I'm still waiting for an update of his tax forms on the IRS website, to see how many $$$ he's making today. The last tax form is still from 2019 and the total revenue back then was more than $2 millions.

  23. The US RDA is a minimum protein intake, not optimal intake. According to Harvard Med School “To determine your daily protein intake, you can multiply your weight in pounds by 0.36, or use this online protein calculator. For a 50-year-old woman who weighs 140 pounds woman and who is sedentary (doesn’t exercise), that translates into 53 grams of protein a day.”

  24. I believe Dr. Greger made this video to calm some vegans about getting enough protein. I see most of the vegans on Youtube adding pea or soy powder to their foods to increase their intake of protein, so some are concerned about it. Personally, I don't see a WFPB diet having enough protein unless a person eats tons of tofu regularly.

  25. 42 grams of protein if you're a short small framed person to barely keep their body mass, he's talking about the bare minimum for surviving and looking like himself as they age

  26. This dude would have killed me when I was going through kidney failure. My kidneys were leaking protein and to replenish it my doctors constantly had me snacking on cheese sticks and drinking milk and protein shakes. It was that or a feeding tube down my nose.

  27. These people keep talking about consuming enough proteins but they cant even build basic muscle mass without chugging lab protein everyday. Just zero awareness.

  28. Those are vegetarian, who we all know rely on dairy and eggs, of course they get more protein than the average omnivore SAD eater.

  29. Actually every calculator that I've seen tells me 128 grams of protein a day but then again I'm trying to lose weight but gain some muscle. So I know from logging calories in MyFitnessPal that it's actually super hard to get protein from a vegan diet. I know because I once put my favorite vegan meals into it and I had to add animal protein on the side. Despite it being calorically dense, it still took way more to get there than I even wanted.

  30. Plant protein doesn’t work as well for the body as animal protein does. From Pubmed (which is the United States National Institutes of Health):

However, plant-based proteins have less of an anabolic effect than animal proteins due to their lower digestibility, lower essential amino acid content (especially leucine), and deficiency in other essential amino acids, such as sulfur amino acids or lysine. Thus, plant amino acids are directed toward oxidation rather than used for muscle protein synthesis.

  31. Why the F is he using a study for vegetarians when he is vegan? Why do vegans keep acting like vegetarians and vegans are the same?

  32. He's wrong but for a different reason, the requirements that's estimated needs are about what he says for adults and not pregnant if a lady. The recommended amounts are higher and the reason he is wrong is he is going of the middle number for healthy weight BMI, but we know most people overweight or obese, so number should be higher.

  33. I eat from 300 to 400 grams a day. I'm 5,'8" 175 pounds, thick muscle and vascularity at 57 years old. 95% red meat and eggs in my diet. Best thing is all the protein keeps my head from bobbing up and down like Gregor's head does.

  34. "He just pulled that out… I mean he didn't pull that out of there because there aint no room for all the beans he is eating" LOL 🙂

  35. "Um, he just pulled that out of… uh… I mean he didn't pull it out of there 'cause there ain't no room from all the beans he's eating".
    🤣🤣😂😂

  36. 42g of protein a day would have me binging on carbs and sugar and looking skinny fat af lol 😂 I need at least 100g of quality animal protein.

I commenti sono chiusi.
