  1. Hey Dr G! Saving my own life through your research! I love how you love your Grandmother. It would be really fabulous to see a photo of that mountain-hiking strong woman after she went Plant based. I've always been curious to see where you got your genes from.

  2. I owe the latest ten years of my life to Dr. Greger because his advice has helped me recover from a heart condition that left me in a non functional state to a fully functioning 74 year old.
    Thank you.
I would like to mention Dr. Bruce Lupton also who deals with psychology which seems to affect our physical condition to a much greater extent than I had realised.

  3. 7:22 Much more than a teaspoon of powdered cranberries is needed for BPH. Unfortunately, Dr. Greger got this one wrong. He got these results from two studies by Vidlar, et. al. (2010, 2015). The studies used a cranberry powder extract with the brand name Flowens, which is not straight cranberry powder. It's at least a 10-to-1 extract. The 2015 paper was also funded by the maker of Flowens (NatureX).

Vidlar A, Vostalova J, Ulrichova J, et al. The effectiveness of dried cranberries ( Vaccinium macrocarpon) in men with lower urinary tract symptoms. Br J Nutr. 2010; 104(8):1181-9.

  4. Thanks to Dr. Gregor and his studies a couple of years ago I started having a shake every night that included dried blueberries and amla powder. About six months ago I added dried cherries and dried cranberries. These are soaked for 24 hours, I make a fresh batch every night after I drink the old badge. After adding the cranberries and cherries I no longer get up in the middle of the night and have to urinate. I think it's the cranberries. Something else unrelated to diet. In order to increase my vitamin D I have been taking a walk every day between 10 and 11 in the morning along the river without my shirt on. It's the only sunlight I get during the day. My sleep has increased from seven hours to eight. I was listening to a video talking about infrared light from the sun increasing the melatonin in our bodies. I think they may be right.

  5. I'm a very irregular sleeper due to the fact that I work part time on the night shift. Lately I have found a way to get drowsy and usually fall asleep. I listen to a long boring talk on YouTube. The concentration of the talk or meditation actually makes me tired. Also cooked oatmeal, plain or with a little warm cream works. Pumpkin seeds for the prostate works! And don't drink alcohol. It exacerbates the enlarged prostate! You won be able to pee!

  6. I don’t think the doctor understands sleep apnea very well. Weight doesn’t always have anything to do with sleep apnea. And even if someone loses weight, they’ll likely have symptoms the rest of their life.

  7. Good data on pumpkin seeds for BPH. Lately, Dr. Greger has focused a few of his videos on therapeutic water fasting. If you truly want to get prostate issues under control, water fasting will MOST DEFINITELY do it – over time. Doesn't have to be a Draconian strategy. Starting off with a fast of 24 hours alone begins to reset estradiol. Fasting is a discipline, best pursued incrementally.
