  1. It'd be wonderful if you could post it to this specific video on nutritionfacts. org. This way more people benefit from the response, and I can actually provide you with links (which I can't do on Youtube). Thanks!

  2. he flashed an image of the report of the study at 0:35 seconds … it's called
"Phenolic Substance Characterization & Chemical & Cell Based Antioxidant Actities of 11 Lentils Grown in the Northern United States" bu Baujun Xu & Sam K.C. Chang from the Journal of Agriculture & Food Chemistry in 2010

  3. Lentils are considered one of the beans you don't need to pre-soak before cooking to neutralize chemicals that can give one intestinal gas.

  4. lucky me, those are by far my favorite. Half rice, haft red lentil, some veggies and beans (et spicy sauce) and i'm happy 🙂

  5. Sprout them even healthier because when they sprout they are ready to be grown into a plant or tree so have everything available nutrients more than non-sprouted IMO.

  6. Thank you Doc! I have been nutritionally ignorant all my life & you have opened my mind & fed my brain. I will no longer slowly be killing myself from here on out❤️

  7. black beans are slightly higher in antioxidants but red lentils have better nutrients overall. I love French lentils and they hold up better to cooking. red lentils are actually shelled or split? I believe and I wonder if this lowers fiber.

  8. Have you ever grown lentils? They are produced in TINY pods containing just 2 lentils. I am amazed they are so cheap! They are hellish to try and harvest. I grew some a few years ago and after about an hour's work, I had about half a cup of lentils!

  9. Indians no matter what love their dals (lentils), no matter what religion, race, ethnicity, language, we all have a variety to love !
