Whoa, quel video era pieno fino in fondo. <br/>

  1. I don't find that Cyanocobalamin is cheaper. At least not here in Sweden. Not only is it more expensive it is also near impossible to locate :/

Had to order from the US which made shipping costs ridiculous for a couple of bottles of pills.

If anyone has a good Swedish or Northern European source of Cyanocobalamin I'd love to hear about it!

  2. Thank you. It's good to know that they're not all the same. I do disagree with your assertion that eating B12 is the best way to get it. According to the studies you show, eating it requires large doses every day for months before any benefit might be observed. Injections work right now and get everything working in 2 days, not 2 months.

  3. for those needing this for their dogs, you might not need shots. i got a good canine b12 off amazon and had my dog tested after 1 month, and then another month. he will be on it for life as he has ibd and partial scarring on his intestines. once he got up to necessary levels, he was a pinch over. so i give it to him 5 days a week instead of 7. he is doing great. of course, check with your vet but also don't let your vet push you around.

  4. Me: Sees everyone asking for a Cyano vs. Methyl B12 video for the longest time.
Nutritionfacts: Delivers a video about Cyano vs. Methyl B12.
Me: Insert meme You did it, you crazy son of a ….., you did it!

    Great video as always!

  5. Awesome video series, very useful and detailed! Please make more 🙂
Also about omega-3 (dosage, ratio, recommendations for kids etc), zinc (I personally find it quite challenging to reach the RDA, especially if remembering that we need more zinc than RDA from plants) and calcium (also not so easy on a daily basis, even with leafy greens and tahini, if I'm not craving them). Calcium supplements are sooo controversial…

  6. i should chew a pill? doesnt sound delicious tbh … and the sublingual form is with drops under the tongue right?

  7. Anyone know if the vegan society's Veg 1 multi vitamin is suitable as a B12 supplement. It contains it but as Dr. G stated multi vits may not be as effective?

  8. Question for you more knowledgeable peeps….I take a weekly sublingual B12 supplement like Dr Gregger mentions and separately I also take a Multivitamin, it has methylcobalamin but I take it more for the iodine and iron. It sounds like I should take them at different times, but maybe should I not take it at all?

  9. What if a product doesn't specify which type of cobalamin it has? But is cheaper than both methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin? (From the same brand)

  10. Please tell us where you found the 4 dollar a year B12?
I'm paying almost 90 bucks a year and that's the cheapest I've found.

  11. Here's your comment
    CL Answer
Is sublingual vitamin B-12 really better than the pill form?

    Your Comment

When starting in Israel in 1979 I saw -after a few patients with aphthous ulcers got quickly better from B12 i.m [injections][published I think in the seventies in the BMJ? B12/folic acid and iron]] thereafter tens of patients with the same problem. They all reacted-with a rare exception on B12, which I did not even expect
Every now and then [3-6 months?] they needed a b12 shot to keep the ulcers away.
When sublingual B12 from Solgar became available [as cobalamine] in Israel I switched all these patients to this.
Virtually all the patient came quickly back as it did not seem to help them.
I went back to the injections!
The injectable B12 in Israel was[and is still] only available as cyanocobalamine.
For years I have treated tenfold [or hundreds] of patients this way, as well as many chronic tired patients [with normal b12 levels] which I learned as being non-sense in medical school [but every practitioner can tell you about this "placebo" effect[but no other placebos worked!]
After b12 came available as sublingual methylcobalamine it became clear to me that there is a huge difference and that simple cobalamine tablets are a waste of money.
The methylcobalamine worked for all these patients.
I do realize that the literature is full of disproving this but I would have to be an idiot to ignore my more then 25 years experience.
How much in the literature has been copied just one from the other?? I am curious.
Why not collect experience data from older practitioners instead of just copying some [double blind] studies?
If one has no financial or other interest in an issue I think first of all one has to believe his own experience if this very clear.

  12. What do you suggest doing for a multivitamin? I need to take one because of a restrictive medical diet, but I can't eat meat and need to supplement for B12. Do you have recommendations for a multi without B12? Or recommendations for how much Vitamin B12 to take if you do have take a multivitamin with it?

  13. methylcobalamin is the natural form as it is found in nature, dr klapper recommends methyl over cyano and has done so with his patients for decades, you dont need the cyanide molucule attatched, i will stick with methylcobalamin as i have for the last 6 years

  14. sure.. cleanliness is great.. but not if it means not being abke to get nutrients the way we are supposed to.. progress to be made in this area, if u can make a tv u can get b12 naturally and safely at the same time.. surely.. natural evolution my friend, very important

  15. 1:47 So, your saying a synthetic brand (Cyanocobalamin ) one created within a lab,is better than one thats almost 100% organic, meaning actual B12 because its the most used?? lol. Yes, heard the rest..its high stability….blah blah.
whoopee do…what does high stability have to do with quality, if quality of the forgery isnt good, then high stability means NOTHING.
    One is synthetic:Cyanocobalamin
That means: made by chemical synthesis, especially to imitate a natural product.

    The other is natural: methylcobalamin
That means : existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind

  16. Cyanocobalamin is made of cyanide. Don’t think that is good. I took high doses of methylcobalamin. Don’t think it worked well. I take cyanocobalamin candies. I think they work good. I have pernicious anemia, so I also eat liver.

  17. I think I will stick with the natural form personally, but this has been the MOST ind depth, yet easy grasp video I’ve seen in a long time. You are an awesome human being! Subscribed!

  18. Would B12 in a vitamin fortified cereal suffer the same fate as it would in a multi vitamin? I image the same combination of vitamins would be present?

  19. Nigh impossible for seniors here in Canada, to locate a reliable home-cooked source of Cyanocobalamin in a sub-lingual form of 1000 mcg. Dr. G has done other vids on American sourced supplements, where the contents were not at all what was depicted on the labels.

  20. But the other form has cyanide I just saw another doctor state this I’d say do your research and do what’s best for you or ask your doctor or not because it depends if the doctor is actually looking out for your best interest

  21. Why is b12 cyanocobalimum strongly recommended when it has cynide in the ingredients. Makes sense to me that having this so called essential supplement plays a huge role in the actual long term side effects

  22. Cyanocobalamin takes too many steps just to form to the Methylcobalamin inside the body. Pluse Cyanide (which is posion) breaks off it. Stick to nature's way.🤷🏿‍♂️

  23. Ahhh I really respect you but you should be ashamed of your self for this one recommending people taking cyanide b12 is very dangerous and unnatural buddy!
Want proof look up the side effects of this dangerous version! You need to shake that MD off you and actually study nutrition!

  24. Cyanocobalamin makes my ears ring…exacerbates my tinnitus. I noticed it without looking for it and since then I've experimented a number of times and it correlates. I've switched back to methylcobalamin.

  25. the comment section is a zoo. get some blood work and forget the "opinions". if you are deficient, you will have symptoms, or make crazy, irrational comments as seen below.

  26. I don't understand why anybody would ever take supplements of Vitamin C. All you have to do is eat literally any fruit. Like one or two pieces of fruit a day will more than do the trick.

  27. Cyanacobalamin is synthetic form, cheap, toxic and doesn't get absorbed much and causes cyanide toxicity. Methylcobalamin is natural form, gets absorbed normally and hugely safer than Cyanacobalamin.

  28. From what I have read and researched, this video is largely fake news. Cyanocobalamin is poorly absorbed (under 10%) and is dangerous for those with bad kidneys or cyanide in their blood. It is the more shelf stable variety and has a further out expiration date. Methylcobalamin is up to 70% absorbable. Interesting research about mixing it with saliva tho. If you consume red meat often, you likely dont need to supplement with B12

  29. This is the problem with Drs. They are so confident in their own abilities that they will defend their business decisions with potentially unjust and harmful messages. Nobody knows everything about the body. The 4 types of cobalamin may have their own uses, and taken sublingually why would cyanocobalamin be any superior to hydroxy, methyl or adensylcobalamin? I have even read on the internet that the 4 types serve different functions. Why isn't this addressed in this video? Am I to believe this guy who is basically a personality vacuum or should I try to think for myself? I don't need entrepreneurs to shove their opinions down my throat, I need unbiased facts. If the body needs other types of cobalamin this video is doing people a disservice by telling them to stick to cyanocobalamin.

  30. Sooo wrong. Cyno may be more stable, but so what if it is so poorly absorbed. The two coenzymed forms methylcobalimin and dibencozide are much better absorbed. The reason so many coenzymed forms suggest you dissolve on or underneath your tongue is because the more highly absorbed coenzymed form gets absorbed by passive diffusion bypassing the need for intrinsic factor further on the digestive tract. Small wonder then, when I took oral cyno my B-12 levels would hardly budge. However, after taking methyl B-12 after some time my levels were raised to high levels followed by very high levels given further / enough time.

  31. 3:16 True methylcobalamin is sensitive to light but it will converts when exposed to light to hydroxyl-cobalamin the another form that ur suggesting beside the cyanocobalamin to be used because it's more stable and superior to cobalamin coenzyme

  32. Didn't bring up the fact that cyanocobalamin is popular because its economical to produce. Hydroxocobalamin is the natural form of b 12 and its absorbtion. % much higher than cyanocobalamin which must first be converted for absorbtion. In U.K. only hydroxocobalamin is used in anemia
because of the toxicity of cyanocobalamin ( cyano = cyanide) with repeated use. This guy must hold some stock in a company producing this very inferior grade of b12.

  33. 4got to add that cyano it’s toxic 4liver and need to brake in the liver to methylcobalamin anyway…cyano it’s the cheeps and moust dangerous one out 4of them out there…some1 payd that guy to spread ba about that type of b12 😉 stay strong stay healthy!

  34. You forgot to mention that cyanocobalamin turns into CYANIDE in our bodies. You don't want cyanide in your body. Especially if you're a smoker. Do you agree Doctor? And don't tell me that cyanide is not toxic in small amounts because you don't know that. There's no studies on this. Cyanocobalamin is cheap made in China crap.

  35. I have a Methylcobolamine supplement that I swallow whole. Can I chew it instead of swallowing it? It’s 100 micrograms

  36. Methylcobalamin is the active form that the body can metabolize more easily. Cyanocobalamin does not take my pins and needles away and gives me heachaches. The methyl form takes pins and needles away with a few hours. I will always use Methylcobalamin until the deficiency is corrected..

  37. Is it a good idea for me to start chewing my 100mg b12 tablet I take daily, despite it not being purposed for chewing? This study didn't explicitly say what the participants were chewing?

  38. Those beginning B-12 supplements should be aware that some people are allergic to cyanocobalamin ("CCB" for short), myself being one of them. I began taking the supplement at the recommended dosage (well within the limits of what's considered safe) and I began to get a pretty nasty case of hives. It took me a couple of days to become suspicious about the supplement but I finally learned about CCB allergies online. I stopped taking it and within a couple of days the rashes cleared up. I'm not suggesting people not use CCB, but just that they be aware that it could cause a reaction. if it does, there's always nutritional yeast and fortified cereals, although I imagine the amount of B-12 these have isn't enough to correct deficiencies.

EDIT: I just learned from another of Dr. Greger's videos that not all nutritional yeast has B-12.

  39. So you talked later about chewing the B12 tablet to get the full benefit. So, as a 72 year old, I have been taking the reco dosage of 1000 a day. No problems for the past 4 years. So should I start chewing it now?

  40. can u make an update on the subject, it seems that there are a lot more new studys since the one from 2015 u are referring to
    best greetings
