  1. Dr Gregor always makes a negative video about a food that I've just eaten lmfao. It makes me feel so unhealthy. I've recently switched to a vegetarian diet, im not ready to go vegan because milk chocolate and cheese are one of the only things I enjoy in this shitty/short life.

  2. These videos are great examples of how important it is to look at nutritional studies critically as Dr. Greger does, rather than taking them at face value as much of the media tends to do!

  3. I now know that cheese does cause cardiovascular disease because my fiance was eating a vegetarian diet with no meat at all. But he did include cheese and fruits and vegetables and he passed away of Cardiovascular disease a year ago. So I now truly know the truth. I was 95% vegan. SIDE NOTE, HE HAD A VERY PHYSICALLY ACTIVE JOB OF LANDSCAPING AND THAT DID NOT STOP THE AFFECTS OF THE CHEESE… : (

  4. I love vegans! The more of them there are, the more meat and dairy there is for me.

    Cheese products are 'healthy' if your genetics allow for it. If the gene pool you belong to made it to Europe, you will likely get benefits from eating fermented dairy products. If your forbears didn't make it out of Africa, or they traveled toward or to Asia, there is a good chance you will have difficulty even digesting dairy products.

    The growing evidence from observational studies is that some people can even benefit from a carnivorous diet. Growing evidence from observational studies indicate that some people are unable to excrete the calcium compounds formed from ingesting oxalates efficiently enough to maintain a diet including mostly vegetables without becoming very ill. These studies that rely on people to accurately fill out questionnaires about their dietary practices retroactively for large periods of time are no longer producing accurate outcomes in my eyes. Sure, observational double-blind studies studies are the most costly, but they are the gold standard. When so many people are cutting out vegetables and fruits completely and getting their blood work done to ensure they are not doing themselves harm, we are becoming more aware that the human species is not uniform in dietary requirements.

  6. i consider cheese to be an okayish food
    not "really" great, too salty — and pasteurized cheese digests just "slightly better" than grains/legumes
    on a 1(gluten pasta) to a 10 (wheatgrass scale) cheese would be a 3 to 5

  7. good luck getting proper levels of protein on a vegan diet without superfoods like spirulina
    there is a reason why most countries eat "hard to obtain" animal products, and no its not just because of the taste

  8. saturated fat really isnt that bad
    im not sure if id call it good but it doesnt make my heart sting (and ive eaten a lot of cocoa and coconut oil at times…like a looot)
    only transfat and cholesterol do that
    satfat raises blood cholesterols a bit but i dont feel the negative effect tbh, and my body is sensitive af

    Achaar, Kimchi, other fermented and pickled…

    Terpenes, Dr. Greger.

    Cover all the physiologic pathways including those further downstream and intracellular/intraorganellar pathways and receptors INCLUDING those for sugars, amino acids, lipids…

    The terpenes from the cattles' feeds [can include tierral vegetation] are one excuse dairy entities utilize to progress their objectives [you are what you…?].

    … so, spaceports are opening, Dr. Greger.

    Stool is less-welcomed, now.

  10. Trust me, I fell off the wagon lately and started eating cheese (normally I eat a solely plant based diet). I feel like crap – clogged up, sweaty and tired. I'm chucking all the cheese in the bin, even though I hate wasting food. Lesson learnt. Give me nice clean plants to eat.

  11. Well what are some good substitudes for cheese? I would eat less cheese but i dont know what else to put on my bread thats relativly quick to make. Anyone got suggestions?

  12. A really excellent and very helpful video. Current scientific evidence confirms that saturated fat and especially saturated fat of animal origin is a significant risk factor for heart disease.   13. I’m currently obsessed with nut cheeses. Wish I haven’t tried them. Already put on few pounds. It doesn’t have anything in it that I can’t pronounce, mainly nuts and cultures. So I just tell myself I’ll have it instead of regular nuts today and end up eating half of the package.

  14. Just my opinion cheese/dairy has bioavailable calcium. If a person has issues with dairy with cheese it’s either weak metabolism, cheap quality dairy, additives like enzyme and vitamin A/D which are low quality. And as for nuts especially peanut butter oh god that is horrible compared to cheese. It’s loaded with polyunsaturated fat which are unstable and easily go rancid even some nuts. Mother Nature started with saturated fat, mono saturated, and polyunsaturated. Compared to some well cooked kale or spinach yea cheese is probably inferior but definitely not to nuts or nut butter in my respective opinion cuz I know die hard vegans gonna get raged.

    They ate about 10 percent of their diet as dairy foods.
    Only 7 percent whole grains.
    2 percent nuts and seeds
    33 percent vegetables
    27 percent fruits.

    Just take this information from Dr. Gregor with a grain of salt. These are the centenarians from the oldest living group of people in the world. There has never been a vegan oldest person on earth in history. When the Lancet did a study on low carb diets they found both low and high carb diets to limit life expectancy. Around 50 percent was the ideal as far as carbs go. Dairy in moderation won't kill you. It's not like smoking cigarettes as he said in his last video. Around 10 percent of meat, or a meat substitute seems to be the ideal, and it's not going to matter much which one someone picks. We just need about that much protein and fat in our diets in an ideal situation. Eggs won't kill you. Red meat won't kill you, as long as you get plenty of fruits and vegetables with some whole grains. When we see a vegan oldest person in the world, perhaps you can argue your way is the best way, but the only people dying earlier are people on a western diet. Wrong message.

  16. I would love more videos on milk/cheese and our hormone regulation. I became vegan 6 months ago after 7 years of being vegetarian and my acne was gone, my menstrual pain is gone and what was most amazing the weird pain in my left breast is gone as well.

  17. Thank you for the great information presented in the video as usual. Can you please do a video about microplastics in salt? I read and heard from varying sources that over 90% of all salt, even sea salt contain microplastics. I have since limited my intake of salt and processed foods due in part to this information and largely continue to use salt for external purposes and uses instead.

  18. Howdy! Dr G and the team, I have a story idea. The CDC just warned against eating ALL romaine from any source. The story mentions that in recent years leafy greens are the biggest source of E. coli infection. I think that’s what it said, anyway. How about some perspective?   19. I like that the dairy industry had to admit that saturated fat has negative health implications before they could propose the idea that the fermentations might neutralize those implications. Check-mate.

  20. The evidence is there and the dairy industry is desperate … so desperate that they have trollers leaving ignorant and deceitful comments on Dr Greger's videos in an attempt to debunk them and generate doubt. It's sad that people will do any job for a quick buck.

  21. Thank you! There was a request for substitutions on bread: avocado, hummus, nut butter, fruit preserves or just fruit — banana for example, beans, tomatoes, potato salad, mock tuna salad. One of my favorites is chopped cucumber, tomato, avocado, and sprouts like buckwheat or whatever sprouts are handy, to throw on a salad or on bread or eat right out of the bowl. If there is always hummus in the fridge then there is always an easy filling snack or meal. Also the better your bread the less it needs anything on it
