  2. 2:33 – Wondering if this "incidence" is adjusted by age (i.e., has it been taken into account that people in Africa just don't live as long and have a lower chance to develop cancer).

  3. Environment Environment Environment! as usual. Few of our genetic codes are unaffected by our environment-which of course includes every single thing we poke down our gullet or suck through a straw. Food is environment. It's the food. Nature has been doing it this way forever.

  4. My German grandmother is already dead for 6years and last 5yrs she was using walking support, while my other grandmother that worked in the field all her life is still strong to work in the field and doesn't need any support

  5. Get off the couch or iPad and go outside.
    Walking, running, bicycles, escooters, green open spaces, electric buses, electric commuter trains and trams are all parts of a good transportation system. Speak up for improved transportation options in your city. Every train station needs safe, protected places to park and lock bicycles. Children and older adults should be able to ride bicycles to work, school or for fun safely. Stay active for as long as you can. There should be more options than getting into a car.
    Staying active as you age is a key factor. Electric bicycles are bringing many older adults back to cycling. Easier on hills and knees.

  6. It drives me crazy that videos promoting keto have 10 times the views of videos like this. Humanity needs more exposure to accurate information.

  7. in an evolutionary sense it must be musnt it? like there are animals that literaly die after reproduction, if organisms are selected towards longevity genes must find a way to adapt to such presures (mutation and selection). Humans wont live as little as mice and not as long as the greenland shark. Go plant based and mary someone who has centenarians as grandparents. (im just an random thow, no knolege realy)

  8. can you change the opening little music thing? you have two that you use, and this one makes my laptop speakers sound awful….it hurts my ears. Turn it down maybe? Or lower the freq around like 2k or so

  9. Doc, what are the benefits of frequent meals Vs intermittent fasting? Which one offers a better lifestyle choice and better for weight loss?

  10. Assuming you are kissing, sharing forks, sharing bathroom, etc – then maybe you are also constantly exposed to your partner's microbiome. I wonder if good/bad germs could be a factor in longevity.

  11. In the general population, it seems that the perception is that lifespan is 50% down to genetics and 40% down to luck – give or take a bit. In other words, many people believe that as long as their lifestyles are not too extreme – compared to their peers – that it's largely a lottery as to how long we live.

    I don't know if this caused by the human tendency to shirk responsibility for negative stuff. Or down to a lack of interest in finding out about these things. Or social conditioning. Or social influencing – from the likes of McDonalds, Coca Cola etc etc etc.

    It's one of those where I'm happy to accept the advice from Nutrition Facts. And accept that other people can do whatever they want with their lives. Although I can't help having empathy for people with relatively self destructive (typical UK / USA) lifestyles.

  12. The new anti aging regime now is fasting. I try exercise, healthy eating, Intermittent fasting (can’t usually manage more than 12 or 13 hours occasionally though 😏) and limiting carbs somewhat sometimes. Also, I TRY to reduce stress, but there’s only so much of that life will allow any of us to accomplish. There’s some longevity in my family, and I live in a very healthy place. Having said all that, I’m an exceptionally healthy and young 75 year old woman. I’ll probably make early 90s, but life is a crapshoot, and I could go tomorrow. Do what you can, but also, just enjoy life while you have it.

  13. Nonsense. You and many other YouTube channels continually spread this misinformation that genetics only play less than 30% in longevity.

    The twin studies you mentioned only prove what you said when it comes to average lifespan, not exceptional lifespan.

    After 95, 50% is genetic, and after 105, it's 75% genetics.

    You started the video by mentioning centenarians. You are manipulating the video.

    Also, the 9 hallmarks are old news. Get up to date, will you. There are more than 9.

  14. This is absolute bullshit.

    Imagine how corroded a study like this is. “Well, their parents lived to 83 and they lived to 87. Ergo, there’s no correlation.”

    And the idea that parents an children don’t get the same cancers is likewise patently absurd.

    I used to respect Dr Gregor, but more and more he’s turning into a snake oil salesman, cherry picking studies that will encourage the sale of his book.

    If both your parents died from cancer, guess what — cancer IS coming for you. And for him to pretend otherwise is just grotesque.

Trump who is older than the person making this video, in 2018 the white house health report said he had a BMI of 30, a total cholesterol of about 223 mg/dL, they got his lifetime LDL of 200 down to 143 mg/dL with medicine, he has a CAC score of 133 and no diabetes or high blood pressure and has never had any health problems and was only in a hospital one time when he was 11. His Vitamin D level was 20 ng/mL but that seems to be adequate as he is in better health than Dr. McDougall who had to retire early.

  16. Can you tell me how Binden and Trump are still able to be leaders of the free world at their age? Usually men around 80 who have died or used a walker or are frail and suffering from some kind of hearing loss, cataracts and refractive errors, back and neck pain and osteoarthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, depression and dementia.
