  1. I use bragg's nutritional yeast every evening over 2 cups of beans, a cup of portobello mushrooms, 2 garlic cloves, 2 cups of green leafy vegetables, and a sweet potato.

I haven't had a cold/flu in 3 years?  Hydrogen Peroxide is GOLD.  Dr. Mercola discovered a cold brews in your inner ear 2-3 days before it set an attack.  When I think I'm getting a cold/flu, I pour a capful in each ear and let it bubble for up to 10 minutes.  If it doesn't bubble, I take it out after 2 minutes.

  4. I have a strange reaction to nutritional yeast. I feel like I'm dying every time I eat it. But glad it could work for others

Love your videos.  You're the best at keeping us informed.  I have a huge challenge for you.  Many of us would like to move into the plant based diet area, but are single and way too busy to do much of the searching for the right vegetables and cooking.  In my case, I'm an older single gent that is much to busy to even sometimes eat at all.   So ….. what we need is a guide to commercial frozen(?) products , and quick preparation, that will help the diet move towards vegetarian.  Mahalo from Hawaii, and keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing.   Missed seeing your regular informative videos.   I used to buy Frontier's Nutritional Yeast from iHerb as I could get it in bulk and have it shipped to the UK.  I stopped though when they removed the B12.  I think I'll return to buying Engevita, even if it's only available to buy in small packs.

  8. If consuming yeast with heavy metals worry you, when trying to kick that cold out of you, then my advice is consume plenty of Vitamin C, some honey and keep warm, simple!

  9. What about the fact it contains free glutamic acid  in it and so its the same as msg which is a neurotoxin that kills brain cells. I mean I eat nutrional yeast but im just curious, I guess its pretty low and in any dried foods there will be some protein that begins to degrade, breaking down into the amino acids that originally formed it making them free and in the case of glutamic acid a toxic neurotoxin?

    When you began talking about nutritional yeast I immediately jumped up to check a box of something I have on my counter.  It's the brand you have on the left side of your graph, 22oz which I no doubt got at your suggestion for a reason that escapes me.  Hence, it remains unopened.

    It's funny how many of the suggestions I've heard from you I've adopted – hibiscus tea amongst others.  Of course I take your suggestions because thought I'd welcome death, I am doing my best to stay away from stroke.

  11. I have been reading that nutritional yeast may be full of pesticides if made from sugar cane and thus molasses.  Did you find any evidence of this Dr. Greger?

  12. I had never heard of nutritional yeast until I saw this film. I tried to find it via the internet where I live but no luck at all. So I turned to the US based internet and found lots of articles on it, some really positive but also some negative. So the question is, is it healthy or not?

  13. The only problem is, Bragg fortifies their product with large amounts of synthetic B-vitamins to increase the appeal of their product, thus increasing sales. Particularly, Vitamin B6 is large amounts over time has been linked to nerve damage.

  14. Just curious, do the yeasts used in bread have these good properties? And would they maintain them after baking? How about the microorganisms in sourdough?

  15. Why put lead in food at all? I've read that Bragg's has been dissed by a vegan research group and that one should be aware of synthetic B vitamins in all forms of commercially sold yeast. Of course, if you live in a large city with transportation exhaust or you smoke, you're getting plenty of lead already.

  16. This good news and bad news. For all the people who save money buying nutritional yeast in bulk, how can you trust it anymore without proof with their test results. Gosh. I'm glad Bragg's is a option but it's certainly more costly than the stuff in bulk in the health food stores that sell food in bulk, less packaging, less of a footprint of waste.

  17. Since becoming vegan, I've used nutritional yeast (mostly Bragg's) for years as a parmesan substitute on pasta and in bean soups. I never measure, and I use a lot! Now I think I'd better cut way back given the comments I'm seeing here.

  18. Dr. Greger, did you reach out to WinCo to ask about lead in their bulk Nutritional Yeast? That is how I buy all of mine, and I eat it every day. I am going to email them and ask.

  22. im here because i just started taking Nutritional Yeast now i have a nasty cold or flu. Its summer time in South Texas and i never get sick in the summer. its the only thing i have done different.
