  1. Cool. It needs to be organic though. All the pesticides in that cheap china tea and chemicals in those bags will do just as much or more damage in the end, and sooner before later.

  2. Yeah, I'm a fan of hibiscus tea, I usually put some tamarind in there.. the taste in the end is very similar to Cranberry juice with a slightly different tang to it.

  3. I already drink this most days as it's said to help lower blood pressure. I do drink green tea too but much prefer hibiscus.
WARNING: Don't drink lots of it if you suffer from LOW blood pressure.

  4. Dear Dr. Greger, thank you for this instructive and relevant information. Would you please be so kind as to make a video summing up the scientific consensus about the Kephir beverage? It seems to be a very promising pro-biotical drink, although it is still hardly studied. Thanks a lot !

  5. I skip the fructose and take pomegranate, tart cherry, raspberry powders that have been freeze dried. Add in some pterostilbene and resveratrol and it makes a great stack of antioxidants. Top it off with nattokinse, you have a vascular powerhouse.

  6. I've found that drinking hibiscus tea is very effective in lowering blood pressure.
Mine went from 130/90 to about 100/70. I only drink a glass a day.

  7. I wonder what the pesticide level is in the type of tea the Dr chose? Apparently basics like Lipton twining tetley are loaded with it! I'm gonna spend the extra cash and do organic

  8. That's really cool about hibiscus tea, my wife loves it! I don't know why but it always makes us kind of tipsy.

Let me ask though, isn't there a lot more to traditional Chinese tea than just antioxidants?

  9. maybe this is wrong but in that study on page 17 flor de Jamaica is only given a score of 6.99 mmol/100g, but on the next page green tea is at 24.31

  10. I discover change of nutrition value in greens, fruits and veggies their  value change a lot, and now,  over the top of the cake, hibiscus tea, better than green tea I hear for decades as the best one. So, previous scientist just watched commercials before???

  11. what wow i am from the carribean and we drank this i loved it but i never knew it was better than green tea or the health benefits but i drank it and loved it cold with ice

  12. GREAT – but why don't we just blend in the green tee leaves (after they
have soked overnight – from bags or open) – If eating green tea is
superior to just drinking the infusion, – as it was recommended doing
with hibiscus … instead of using matcha powder wich is so much more
    expensive?

  14. A quick question: Is Normal that after drink not even two cups or bottle of this tea I am peeing a lot? I'm not diabetic neither even have prostate issues. If I drink in the evening I wake up to pee….a lot. Is this normal? I started to eat whole food plant based diet 3 month ago and I have lost 42 pounds without stop eating. I feel really great. But I started to drink this tea two weeks ago and it makes me pee a lot following the daily dozen recommended drink.

  15. I’ve been drinking celestial seasonings wild berry zinger with lemon and stevia for a long time, (cold brewing) tastes like fruit punch.. my grandkids love it and always want me to make them some when they visit me.. I thought I was the only one who knew this yummy secret!! I knew it was healthy, but not more healthy (antioxidant rich) than matcha tea!!

  16. Hibiscus tea dried can be very tart and should not be brewed for more than 2 minutes. Apparently great for reducing blood pressure. Middle eastern grocery stores sell it cheaply.

  17. Hi there, have you considered Hybetez Remedy yet? Simply just do a google search. On there you will discover a great suggestions about how you can fix your high blood pressure issue inherently . Why not give it a shot? perhaps it is going to work for you too.

  18. What do you think of cleanse your high blood pressure issue naturally using Hybetez Remedy? I notice many people keep on speaking about Hybetez Remedy.

  19. But can you really swap out the anthocyains of hibiscus tea for the epegallico catechin gallate and theanine of matcha and have more of the same effects? Has that been "put to the test?" Just because one has more "antioxidants" than the other does not necessarily mean that you get the same benefits from one that the other provides. We are always extolled to aim for variety (when talking about fiber, micronutrients, or plant-based food in general) afterall.

  20. What do you think of cure your high blood pressure issue naturally with Hybetez Remedy? I notice many people keep on speaking about Hybetez Remedy.

  21. Not sure of this, but the wild red berried sumac growing in many parts of the world may actually be higher – esp. if in the powdered form like they have in the Middle East. Like hibiscus tea, it is red and sour…needs sugar.

  22. Hi Dr. Greger!

All of these videos on hibiscus tea are sort of old now. I was wondering if you could make a new one explaining the differences in antioxidant/anti-inflammatory properties between hot brew & cold brew hibiscus? Which one is better? Also, what is the right way to make it? How much hibiscus per cup of water should we use?

  23. It combines well with roiboos, or any other caffeine free herb for that matter, for a great evening drink.. a kilo of dried whole flowers is under $20 too, which should last a long while. Way cheaper than in (plastic) teabags

  24. Your expertise needed! Has anyone heard of Liquid I.V. was looking for information or studies on this "energy multiplier" powder. It is a (CTT) Cellular Transport Technology of the nutrients or rapid absorption design into the bloodstream. Any help or information would be appreciated!

  25. Here's the deal… Go to Amazon and get a 1 pound bag of Davidson's hibiscus flowers…$17.66… and it is …beautiful thing… Either put them loose into your hot water or purchase the paper teabags at Amazon or whatever delivery method you want to use with loose tea… That's it… The zinger stuff will send you to the poor House… Stick with the Davidson's or whatever company you want to buy your hibiscus petals from… I also get my Chamomile from Davidson, another great deal for a 1 pound bag… There are others but I stick with Davidson… I make no profit from this advice…👍 to your health… Chin chin…
God bless Dr Greger… God bless America …🇺🇸

  26. Would grinding up the leaves in a smoothie provide even more? Like green tea is to matcha as hibiscus tea is to grinding up hibiscus leaves in a smoothie?

  27. Poor man , the thing to drink with MOST antioxidants is raw CACAO nothing else because it contain almost 200 different ones and its most complicated food on planet

  28. I'm amazed that hibiscus tea is actually relatively cheap. Matcha can be pretty expensive for regular consumption where I live, even if you don't go for the fancy ones. It's caffeine free too which is convenient for late evening tea times.

  29. Here in Mexico it is common to add a cinnamon stick and slices of ginger and let it simmer. It is so tasty and no need for sugar. I buy organic hibiscus in large bags.
