  1. [01:05] “If even half of the adult population ate three more grams [of fiber] a day (like a quarter cup of beans or a bowl of oatmeal), we could save billions in medical costs—and that’s just constipation.”

    [02:48] We didn’t know… until…

[03:54] But do we wanna just slow the rate at which we die from heart disease? Or not die from heart disease at all.

04:25 – Oatmeal as a topical soothing agent

06:32 – Is whole grain consumption just a marker for healthier behaviours, or do whole grains have direct health benefits?

  2. Just a question…is it better to eat the oats just plain…in warm water……or can i get the same effects for health with blending in a Mixer and eat it slowly as a fluid Shake ? Thanks and greetings from Andreas

  3. Hmmm. Oatmeal lotion. Handmade or "sponsored" by Aveeno Brand. As a child with eczema my mother would put oatmeal wrapped in a sealed cloth. She would use it like a wet sponge; spreading the milky liquid on my skin.

  4. Did you know that a horse, being hyper herbivore cannot eat too much oats/grains. Their digestive system suffer and their joints suffer.
But humans, we have iron stomachs, let's eat all the forage crops

  5. Oats is a great food, but for people with stent or bypass and don’t follow the medication… is not to good oats because it’s fatty little bit. I have changed oats flakes with barley flakes and rye flakes , they have less fat.
I am man 54 years old, I have a stent for around 10 months and I don’t take any medication, that is why I am commenting here. I try to keep my cholesterol down following Esselstyn ‘s diet.
I hope that I can find some more people like me with the same interests . 😊

  6. Why is he "mailing in" podcasts instead of his quality videos before? Getting tired in older age? Ain't trying to run it hard to the end? … LOVED him for years, lost 45 kg partially due to his videos but the last couple of years he is not contributing as much, and is becoming more spin, sizzle, rehash, than raw nutrient ideas!

  7. oats are not GMO So those wonderful people at monsanto came up with a method to get more glyphosate into us . When oats are ready to harvest they spray them with glyphosate to dry them out thus saving big farmer money in the processing . More cancer for the consumer but monsanto considers that a win too . I spend the extra money for organic but who knows if that really helps . Please boycot all monsanto , Bayer products including and especially roundup at your home .

  8. I can't stomach oats in the morning…but, I cook them up (or even just soak them quickly) and mix them into cooked butternut or spaghetti squash and make burgers and don't hae any digestive issues that way. Or, I mix cooked oats into cassava flour and riced cauliflower, add H20 to make a thick batter (or leave it drier if you want to) and use it to make a pizza dough! (add a bit of garlic powder, spices, maybe some rosemary). I bake it in my broiler oven for about 16 minutes, then top, and finish baking another 10 minutes or so (par cook things like zucchini or eggplant)…..Delicious!!!

  9. Does anyone know about oat sensitivity? Meaning, oatmeal (however cooked) causing serious digestion problems (gas, bloating, discomfort, diarrhea)? But these problems were not present until middle age (late 40s) and after moving across the country. I haven't found a doctor that has a clue. Patient is whole food plant-based vegan. Tested negative for SIBO and fructose malabsorption.

  10. Enjoying this podcast while eating my favorite 15-ingredient breakfast — oats, ground flax, chia, & cacao, nutritional yeast, granulated kelp, amla, dates, cinnamon, walnuts & pecans, cranberries, blueberries, soy milk and saffron.

  11. Oats are more toxic than most grains they have mycotoxins… Which cause cancer. This channel is so cheap they keep deleting my comments because it's the truth.

  12. I upped my fibre and inulin intake and have put on 6 pounds in just over a month. It has definitely stimulated my appetite by causing my bowel to empty more frequently. Hoping it will all settle down soon.

  13. World Oatmeal day is October 10th every year. Did you know that Bobs Red Mill oatmeal has won the Golden Spirtle award? I love oats. Groats, steel cut, cracked, rolled, it’s all good.

  14. Poor animals, because they don't know how to cook, they are missing all the health issues… that we have :))
I don't use heat to cook fruits and vegetables, oats included

  15. We buy organic oats by the forty pound bag and we roll them every morning in a machine called a flaker, it’s hand operated. I also eat a whole food plant based diet been on it for 4 yrs. I can’t say it reversed my heart disease but it reversed my chronic heartburn, increased my energy, I recover from exercise much faster, bowel movements are better and I have much less impact on the environment.

  16. from london brixton uk . I was diagnosed with cancer in 2017. I was given 3 month window to live. i refused chemo. I went raw vegan, removed all process food and reversed my cancer. I share the consultant, as the Queen & Kate Middleton (Alan Farthing). I am a trainee black lawyer. i plan to inspire others,

  17. Fiber is nothing but a poison slowing agent to health or insignificant amount of energy to provide you from fermentation in your large intestine and your microbiome. Fiber is the key buffer to your health in your vegan diet in your vegan worship.

  18. I really enjoy oats, porridge is my favourite cereal as it isn't sickly sweet (providing you buy packets of oats that aren't flavoured or got any additives) and is super nutritious especially if you also add in blueberries, bananas, flax seeds and chia seeds.

  19. Sounds like Americans need to up their Cheeto intake. Not enough red dye on their hemorrhoidal inflammation.

  20. I love oats and I've been eating them every morning for years now! Still, IDK why they say that you eat them and they keep you fuller longer. I have eaten three servings for breakfast and I'm still hungry. I eat them with hot water, cinnamon, sometimes I'll add banana but I'll end up being hungrier like an hour later. Does this happen to anyone else?

  21. Can someone explain me the biochemistry what chemical reaction happens between fiber and cholesterol, a lot of doctors speak of nutrition and science but don't speak the biochemistry of my body or maybe different body,

  22. I put about 70mls in a yogurt container. I add a cup of Kefir, a heaped tablespoon of Chia seeds, a fruit (usually an apple or peach) chopped small, a few good shakes of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey. Stir well. Wack the lid on and leave it overnight. Yum!

  23. Love oatmeal for breakfast! Mine is never boring. Try this folks – add shredded carrots, pineapple, raisins, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, & smashed banana. Top it with walnuts, plant milk, yum…Carrot Cake Oatmeal. I have a different one for each day. 🙂

  24. My go to breakfast is soy milk, w/ blueberries, chopped walnuts, 1tspn ground flaxseed, handful of chopped kale, 1/2tspn amla powder and sprinkled with Ceylon cinnamon😋😋😋 doesn’t get any better😋😋

  25. I soak a big bowl of steel-cut oats in just hot water, add cinnamon and frozen blueberries, and eat it for breakfast almost every day. That is 200 grams (dry weight) of steel-cut oats every day.
It is cheap too, as I buy the steel-cut oats in bulk in 25-pound packs.

I commenti sono chiusi.
