Zenzero per l'emicrania

Un ottavo cucchiaino di zenzero in polvere ha funzionato così come il farmaco per l'emicrania sumatriptan (Imitrex) senza gli effetti collaterali.

  1. I am going to try this. I have severe migraines about twice a month on average. I don't have any prescription meds and usually try to "sleep it off".

  2. I've tried using ginger and ginger tea when I have a headache – sometimes it works, but not always.. I guess it depends on the cause of the headache too, or maybe just the migraines..

  3. i knew of its anti nauseating properties due to 5ht affinity like omeprazole but was unaware of migraine abortive effects though it makes sense, interesting vid!

  4. Sadly, does not work for me. I have chronic migraines and I eat ginger and take supplements in capsule form. NO effect on my migraines. I am not even sure it has any effect on my nausea. Herbal supplements for migraine relief? I have tried many but no silver bullets there 🙁

  5. Hey Doc,
I have some problems with the things that going on lately regarding your activity…
Google (YouTube) have blocked you from posting new videos and now you're back…
Google do not banned accounts with no very GOOD reason…
I'm starting to believe that you pin point studies and post misleading info to the public.
Please give us your comment on this.
    Thank you.

  6. Ladies, ginger works wonders if you have menstrual pain. Slice a few pieces of ginger , add water, bring to boil and simmer for about 5 mins (about 4 large slices of ginger and 3 cups of water), consume it and pain is gone. Works everytime.

  7. Shouldn't our governments have some kind of system for distributing this important information to the public?  You'd think all this research suggesting that foods can prevent and cure all sorts of illnesses would be widely known.  Instead only global warming, terrorism, vaccines and drugs are mentioned with any frequency.  How can we be expected to believe that the government is acting in our best interests when the most important facts are filtered out?

  8. If you have a bug in your throat, chewing a little ginger to the extent that your mouth fills with saliva, you then swallow it killing the bug in the process. You can use mouth wash but that don't often gets rid of the problem and most of them contain chemicals like sodium fluoride, alcohol etc.

  9. This is the genius of mother earth, no need for extra effort on designer drugs, it has always been there 😀 How did people not realize this yet?

  10. Hey just wondering if this would help with tension headaches? I take turmeric. If that doesnt help i usually resort to xanax. Its the only thing that loosens the muscles up. Would it be ok to take turmeric, ginger and xanax together?

  11. I took one ginger shot for one week and I was able to reduce the migraine, using a juice extractor I got the ginger juice and drink it like a tequila shot. I will try now with the ginger powder.

  12. My wife will be trying this. She has suffered with migraines for many, many years, and takes sumatriptan. I see that this discussion is also in your book on page 360. Excellent. Thanks!

  13. Dr. Greger, your work is a real service to everyone. could you perhaps start a play list of food as medicine like this one? I use to suffer from frequent chronic migraines and know many who do now, this is great news! Thanks.

  14. This is the most legitimate health food claim presentation I have ever found so far. There is no conflict of interest (i.e. not funded by "ginger growers inc"), the argument is objective (opinions not presented as facts), shows good use of educational illustrations (snips of research journals, not women in bikinis) and none of that sensationalized hype that afflicts the digital media ("What the medical industry doesn't want you to know could cost you BILLIONS OF DOLLARS"). Subscribed.

  15. Hi Dr. Greger, thank you so much for your wonderful work that you share so freely. I found this video when searching for vertigo on your website. since migraines and vertigo are sometimes related, I'll give it a try, can't hurt! But are there any studies or recommended food cures out there specifically for vertigo? Thank you very much!

  17. Double-blind, randomized trials cost money and are very complicated, who on Earth would pay to test Ginger against a leading medicine? Something is very fishy

  18. I have about 4 or 5 migraine headaches per month. When I moved to Thailand my Thai friend said ginger tea made with fresh ginger would stop me getting them. I was sceptical, but loved the taste of the tea and it was really easy to make and so inexpensive. After drinking this tea every day for a few weeks I have more than halves my migraine attacks, and they are much less painful and last shorter time than before (they could last all day or longer sometimes with severe pain and sickness). I don't know about dry powdered ginger or ginger tablets, but I can say the fresh ginger made into a tea really helped me!

  19. Just personally experience:
This seems to be working for me so far. I usually got 1-2 debilitating migraines a month. Identifying triggers & avoiding helped reduce to 1 or less severe. Started adding ginger powder in my morning shakes most days & haven't had a migraine in almost 3 months.

  20. Every migraine sufferer should have powdered ginger at home, half a teaspoon in a small amount of warm water and in 30 mins you will feel much better.

  21. Didnt work. At all. Drinking gingertea instead of the powder, also no effect. So I juiced a whole bunch of fresh ginger and turned it into huge ice cubes. Last week my monthly migraine started. Used two cubes during the 48 hours migraine. Nothing. Nada. Still a mindsplitting headache, elevated body heat, overactive light/smell/movement/sound sensors, nausea and wanting to die during the 12 hours peak of the migraine.

  22. And it works best with coffee, as he explained on another video. Ginger coffee it is! Yum. Alternately, swallow 2 ginger capsules with a cup of joe.

  23. I just tried this. Swallowed 1/2 teaspoon of dried ginger when I started to feel a migraine coming on. It was completely gone within half an hour. Will definitely try this again, this video may have just changed my life
